I'm thinking of buying the graphic novel or the comic after seeing the movie, but I don't know which to get.
I know the comic is in 12 parts, and it's probably rare/expensive but I'd much rather get it because it includes the illustrations (no I'm not 5 :P)
What should I get?

Illustrations?

Graphic novel.

Maybe you've been seeing the term and though it meant "a novel which contains graphic depictions of adult material."

Maybe. We don't know.

Anyway, it doesn't mean that.

lol, the graphic novel or the comic.

note: if it's underlined, it means the same thing.

This is excellent.

I opened it thinking it would be a topic on wether you refer to it as a graphic novel or a comic.

But no. This is so..so much better.

This thread has nowhere to go but down, so I'm just going to wrap it up and lock it.

Watchmen is not available in 12 parts anymore. Now, it can only be found in the form of a single graphic novel or comic book.

There. Thread over.
