Was Eddie Blake forced to testify? If so, why did no one know that he was the Comedian at his death? If not, why wasn't he required to testify?

2. Because the Comedian worked for the government, he was exempt from the Keene Act and thus was not made to retire or disclose his identity.

3. He was already an American war hero by the McCarthy era. He therefore had no need for a HUAC hearing as his allegiance to the U.S. was beyond question.

What was Mothman institutionalized for? Did McCarthy have him blacklisted?

The McCarthy hearings went especially hard for Mothman, due to some leftist friends he made in college. This stress led to alcoholism, which in turn led to mental illness.
