This is an interesting thread. I've been lurking on the boards for awhile, enjoying the various, thought-provoking posts. This thread lured me out of hiding with a small empty slot, custom made for my two-cents.
I hadn't noticed any mention of this Rorschach quote in reference to this thread, and I thought it applied to the topic at hand. 5:11:5:
"Out in the street, inspected defaced building: silhouette picture in doorway, man and woman, possibly indulging in sexual foreplay. Didn't like it. Makes doorway look haunted."
To me, this speaks volumes about his view on heterosexual sex. Especially when compared to the panels in Chapter 6 pages 3 & 4. (The "pretty flowers" inkblot, which reminds Rorschach of his mother and her john having sexual foreplay, seen in silhouette in the doorway in 6:3:2 and 6:3:3)
The haunted line didn't seem like a throwaway comment. I interpreted that passage as Rorschach being haunted, especially since in panel 5:11:4, he runs into the landlady. "She reminds me of my mother."
I see Rorschach as genophobic towards heterosexual sex, likely with repressed heterosexual urges. His own sexual urges make him uncomfortable, because he associates sex with decadence and filth, even violence. Why would handling women's clothing make a man uncomfortable? Because of the urges it stirs in him, urges which - in Rorschach's case - he rejects.
Though he doesn't approve of homosexuality, it doesn't seem to revolt him in the same way heterosexual sex, or even women's clothing, revolts him. There is no deep disgust, no sign of vulnerability when he mentions homosexual sex. There is just disapproval. It comes across (to me) like he is just regurgitating the party line of the conservative values he developed to live up to his invented image of his father. (And a rejection of everything his mother represented.)
As for the handshake, I think it just illustrates how touched Rorschach is that he has a friend. Rorschach has been abused and rejected his entire life. I don't think he expected anything else from anyone. Dan had recently rescued him from prison and had just referred to him as a friend. Loyal friendship is pretty powerful stuff for someone who's never experienced it. It'd probably make a guy want to bottle it in a green glass bottle and savor that first sip.
That's my two cents.

Then again, maybe he did just pop a boner.
