Rereading the book again, I realized what a powerhouse Manhattan is and how he contributed to the end of masked adventurers. The Doc is like Supermane except he is a quantum existence and noe simply an alien form space. I mean look at most of the Superheroes in most comics, Superman, The Sentry, Hulk, Wolverine and that is just the tip of the Iceburg, would you reallly want heroes roaming around knowing their powers and abilities? Would be the slightest bit jealous and intimidated by such heroes especially Dr. Manhattan who could kill with only a thought?

I don't think there is a god. And if there is I'm nothing like him.

no. I would love to have a really long conversation with him about his views on life, humanity, all that jazz.
I would be intrigued and interested. Even if i knew the fullest extent of his power.
His perception is so unique, my curiousity would outweigh any other feeling towards him.

Well, I didn't say I would be afraid to the point of paralysis.

So yeah, I guess I'd do that too. And he could teleport me around. It would be useful.

Let's just put it this way, why did you think that the common folk in watchmen reacted how they did when he was accused of causing cancer ?

Talk about epically bumping a topic.

And no, it's because there was an emotional component of fear that was so powerful that no one even questioned if the cancer thing was a lie.

But also, I think that can be viewed as how quick man is to throw their gods under the bus any time something bad happens

Maybe, I wouldn't think so considering how Moore is not very religious, don't know about Gibbons though.

I don't mean literal gods, I meant like politicians and other people in power that are viewed as being above the common man

Even so, that's a little ambiguous, I could quote examples in which the complete opposite has happened, in which people have fiercely defended their "gods".

I always interpreted that as the last drop that spilled the glass, people were scared shitless of Manhattan, and as soon as the rumor spread, they cracked, their fear was let out in the open.
