I've been stranded at Alien Squid Monster for quite a little bit. I'm almost to that two hundred mark, but that doesn't cost, the posting history does.

I hate to sound like a cynical a-hole ( ), but the fact that we keep a "presence" here can't hurt with relatively miniscule amount of ad revenue, can it?

Sure. But oddly enough, the banner provider gives me seperate ad codes for the forum, as they know page views are always much higher in forums, so the compensate by paying out less for ads in a forum.

It depends on how you define "break even." If you don't include any time I've put into the site, and just include my hosting costs and the money in put into Google AdWords in the beginning, I'm a little better than break even now.

Thanks DDC, but there's always something fishy about arriving at a message board and seeing characters with post-counts longer than telephone numbers. It's a bit intimidating for any newcomer. It also encourages some people to post as much as possible to attain "respect" when it's — of course — the content of the individual posts, along with the poster's respect for fellow board-members that counts in my book.

Though in this case, it's fun to see the rank names!
