Just a quick poll to see if you guys want a chat feature installed on this forum. If I set it up it would be members only (like the jacket only cooler).

An interesting thought, Doomsday, but I think this board suits our purposes quite well. Besides, I've noticed that very few of us are online at the same time, so a chat feature wouldn't do much good.

Actually, I have a chat function over at the Vivarium. We don't use it daily by any means, but it's nice once in a while to have a real time chat. I've enjoyed it.

chat isn't for everyone, though... a few users seem to shun it.

I like a chat now and then. Bit more spontaneous than the thought-through posts that appear here.

Though, I fear, none of you lot would be up while I'm active. :)

Hurm. This forum, and no offense, hasn't grown large enough for a chat function just yet.

I wouldn't mind it. Usually when I'm one or two of you are around and it'd be kinda nice to use once in a while ^_^

Yeah, getting to know one another on this forum wouldn't hurt.

Can be interesting, but I spend about half an hour in writing a post with my rusted english, so I will not participate very much in the chat :D

If your a member of this forum and have not voted here. Take a second and please do. Its hard to make a decision on 14 votes. We have 115 members now and at least half of them come here semi-regularly. You don't have to post a reply... just vote. Thanks. :)

I voted 'yes' but persoanlly, I'd rather see the contest happen before a 'chat.'

I loved to see a 'chat' section so I don't have to hit the refresh button over and over to see If I got a reply.

The forum has expanded a bit more since this thread was created and I've started to notice many more coming on than usual. I think we're all in agreement that a chat room would be a welcomed addition.

Not all, Rorsach. Over 10% voted 'no'.
I voted definitely yes myself (a long time ago), but I still think everyone's opinion should be respected.
That said, perhaps its time DD?

You know, I think I'll change my mind.

Working with DD by E-mail has been okay, but working by chat would be so much more efficient.

As a forum admin, I can say that our chatroom doesn't get used frequently, but yes, it does get used. And it's appreciated by the members who do use it. We aren't all that much bigger a forum than here either, with regard to the number of members.

It doesn't impact on the rest of the fourm, as most people will still post in the 'normal' fashion. So, if you don't want to use it that's good, and if you do? go ahead.

So my vote was yes. ;)

I'd use it definately. What kind of chat you were thinking DDC? mIRC, flash chat or other?
