I thought I'd start a thread as the season is starting to heat up with playoff and wild card contenders racing to get their spots secured.

There may be a few of you fans out there, so this thread's for you.

As pathetic as the NFC is right now, my Minnesota Vikings might actually pull a fast one and take a wild card spot. With way they are playing the last 3 weeks, they had better!

Best 6-6 team ever!

PS: Your team sucks. ;)

I'm a Vikings fan, too. Funny.

I am a Bears fan.... after years and years of being crap, we finally have 2 good years... playoffs and then last year the superbowl. Now back to being crap... oh well.

Just bought myself a HDD Recorder so i can record our ONE game a week that is shown on UK TV, at 1:30am on Monday.

Yes the life of an English NFL fan is a tough one!

I'm pretty much sick of Football anymore. I'll watch big games here and there, but I'm far more interested in Baseball.

My team is the Packers... sorry Vikings/Bears fans.

No. I live in NY, but never got hooked on any NY team. So I was a fan of Warren Moon when he was on the Oilers, then when he moved to the Vikings I followed him there. Then when he left Minnesota, I stayed with the team because I started to really like a lot of the other players (plus I knew Moon's career was pretty much over).

The only live Viking's game I have seen was 11 years ago (I know, some fan...tickets are pricey!) when Moon was QB. Some coworkers had an extra ticket for me. They played Carolina, and the whole time some jackass behind us was badmouthing Moon the whole game (I think his girlfriend became pretty embarrassed). Vikings ended up winning. It was all good in the 'hood.

Every year since, I learned a bit more about the game, the draft, the stats, the players. It's fun- even with the Randy Moss and Daunte Culpepper wierdness, the coaching changes, the bad calls, etc. They are the perpetual underdog. That appeals to me for some reason.

Oh, and mike_tyson: yer goin' DOWN! ;) Seriously, the Pack is back. They are pretty solid. Farve was just named SI's "Sportsman of the Year", and deservedly so. He was slumped the last few years; we all thought he was washed up. Now he IS the Pack. Many kudos.

No worries, I think I am the only Bears fan who likes the Packers too... must be cos i dont live in Chicago.

I saw them play the Buccaneers in Florida a few years ago and went in a Farve NFL top... caught quite a lot of flack from the Bucs fans but had a laugh and chatted to a lot of cool people.

Farve is a ledgend, always will be! I am so glad they are doing well this year....

Do you think it's his last year? Going out on a high note?

PURPLE PRIDE!!!!!!!!

Vikings are 7-6 after beating San Francisco 27-7. The only success SF had was stuffing the star player Adrian Peterson, holding him to 4 yards overall, thus knocking him to #2 overall in the National Football league for total running yards. Three more weeks to go in the regular season...

That's 4 wins in a row for the Vikes. And a lead to take one of the Wild Card playoff slots after Arizona and Detroit were beaten yesterday. Uffda. Something seems to be working for this team now.

PURPLE PRIDE!!!!!

After last year I think he should seriously consider going out on a high note this year.... much as we love him, I dont want to see him hanging on, getting older and slowly loosing his magic!

It would probably be a classy thing to do after this season; to retire, that is. He's broken several career records (consecutive starts, pass completions, etc.). I could only see him hanging on if Green Bay doesn't get a Super Bowl shot- he may want to try again next year!
