Day Three: Mom's been discharged from the hospital, and the pacemaker is already working miracles. She's on pain medication, but otherwise better than ever. But of course, she needs the doctors to give her one last once-over tomorrow before we can get the all-clear to go home.

So I'm stuck in Spokane until Tuesday at the earliest. SOMEBODY GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE!

It's a little late for the depression, amigo. Lucky that will pass.

Anyway, the doctors pulled enough strings that they could get the pacemaker installed today. If all goes well (as things have been going very well so far, all things considered), we'll be heading back home on Wednesday.

Sorry to hear that. But why does she need a pacemaker in the first place?

I kept reading all instances of 'pacemaker' as "peacemaker" and could think of nothing but that george clooney movie.
It makes for some weird mental images when you think about it.

I could never have made it through so many hours of waiting in the hospital without it. Why do you ask?

There's some long-winded scientific explanation for why it happened. Suffice to say that the initial collapse was due to a combination of low blood pressure and arrhythmia. The pacemaker is to solve the latter problem.

In point of fact, the pacemaker showed a few signs of working last night while Mom was sleeping. This implies that it was a chronic problem all along, so small that it never showed any visible signs until last Friday.

I went ahead and merged the above two posts here. Seemed like the best place for it.

Also, I'd like to offer my deep condolences to WJK. I can't imagine what it would be like to get that information.

Same. That is just awful. Many hugs and my best wishes to you and your friend's family.

Well she dumped me.
But its not like I didn't already know this was going to happen.
It was a 100% certainty.
Just a matter of when.

She came back to find her girl with someone else, I was the unlucky bastard to see it happen firsthand.
Both of us were hurting. We were each other's rebound.
But shit, one week?

I guess I didn't know it was possible to get that attached in a short amount of time.
I don't wanna say I'm heartbroken. But I definately think we could've had something.
In the back of my head theres the part that wishes he could go back stop it from happening at all,
and the other part who knew he was just going to be a lean-to until she sorted shit out.
Either way, I got really attached, and this hurts now.
But who's to blame if I saw it coming from the first few minutes?

Whatever the fuck it is now, I'm just stressed. And feeling kinda hopeless.

I don't know what the fuck I'm supposed to say to someone who's friend killed himself that'll actually be the slightest bit constructive, but that sucks, man. We're always here to talk about it if you want.

I know what you mean, I stared at a blank reply box for about 5 minutes, before I decided to write basically nothing.

all dickery aside, i do know exactly what you went through, i briefly went through a few one-week relationships (about half of them rebounds/just happened to be there) back in eighth grade.

they could have lasted longer, but only if i wasn't receiving phone calls every twenty minutes.

I just don't get what happened tbh.
I wasn't even really her boyfriend long enough to even be used as a proper rebound.
We were in this shit about a week, but only had ONE drama free day together.
The rest was like a fucking soap opera.

She started it.
And She ended it.

*sigh*

sounds like it was just as well it didn't last.

I was just wondering, are all your friends lesbian and/or bisexual girls, or just the ones you talk about?
