Sort of the bitter, angry, disillusioned counterpart to "What Games Are You Playing Now?" I've created this thread because I need to vent.
So I just finished Final Fantasy XIII-2 tonight. It took forever because real life (that old bitch!) kept intervening, but with Mass Effect 3 on the way I resolved to just hunker down and complete the damn thing by today.
Suffice to say *SPOILER ALERT* for this game and any that may be discussed in the thread, but the ending (called the "Standard Ending") was just beyond lame. The entire game is spent traveling through time to prevent one specific event from happening, thusly keeping one specific really bad outcome from happening. So at the end, everything sems hunky dory right? And then BOOM the game purports that every action you've done in the game to stop this Really Bad Thing from happening has really just caused that thing to happen. Plus 1 (2?) protagonist(s) die(s) and another from the original Final Fantasy XIII who went unmentioned the entire game pops up 500 years in the future all smiles with no explanation. Obvi because he's getting his own DLC to tell his own BS story.
Then, to top it all off, the screen goes black and says:
TO BE CONTINUED.
Bullshit. I call complete BS.
Dear Square,
Screw your DLC. Screw your mediocre storytelling. Screw your Paradox Endings. There is only one true ending, and it was a complete "F-You" to everyone who put their time and effort into your paltry 25 hours (at 60 dollars, no less) of campaign.
