Enjoy. My update was simple. A new movie release countdown clock on the home page. (yippee!)

It ain't Malin Ackerman in latex, but my little contribution....

Well I'm glad we got a heads-up here, at the very least!

Not to be negative or anything but. . .But I expected better for Nite Owl and Ozymandias. I really liked the rest of the cast. Especially The Comedian!

Oh man, these are so awesome. Very campy, but in a clever "Watchmen" way. I gotta say, they really did a great job. The original costumes did a great job of deconstructing the costumes from typical comics, but these definitely apply wonderfully to the world of film. Haha, I love the Nite-Owl one.

Thanks again DD, this is really cool.

Oh and, well, Jeffrey Dean Morgan looks EXACTLY like The Comedian. Wow.

Oh, and I also love the zipper on Nite Owl's costume. Classic touch.

EDIT: Nevermind, no longer looks like a zipper to me...not sure../

They've been saying all along that the costumes would be "updated" and that they'd "comment" on movie superheroes. It'll be another thing altogether to see these in action.

I like how The Comedian & Silk Spectre's photos are pretty clearly set in respective scenes. Not sure about Comedian's hair there. Adrian doesn't look a day over 30 there. I have to say I like the update to Laurie's look so far. You can totally see that Rorschach is, indeed, short.

The molded rubber look takes me back to a gripe I had with the first Spider-Man movie. How does one actually MAKE a costume like this?

Yeah, well they have the 300-style desaturation and the over-the-top badass poses. Nite Owl's costume is brown, but it looks gray in this photo. Ozy's is not as "dull" either.

You gotta work past the vacuuformed rubber and really look at them for a while. Then you start to see they really are a bit cheesy. It's not as Batman Begins as you thought.

Well, Dan and Adrian have money and resources, one thing little Peter Parker didn't have.

once we see these boots in action with a dark feel to the film...
I believe any "cheese" will leave. HOPEFULLY.

Or it will get worse.

Excellent. Big fan all around. Love the style and feel to these. The gritty atmosphere is exactly what I wanted. Only complaint: Veidt has nipples.

We finally saw the Owlship! I'm really hating Ozymandias' costume, IT HAS NIPPLES. . .Batman and Robin anyone? The Comedian and Rorshach look perfect! Nite Owl's costume could have been better, but at least it's not as bad as Adrians. I like the fact that Dan's belt maintained the crescent moon, and "owl ears." I love how the "beast with two backs" is on Rorshach's mask. Silk Specter's costume i'm happy with. It's different from the comics but I really don't mind. She looks hot. She looks tough. She's in shape. My warrior woman. . .

definitely a zipper...
you can see halfway down a little bit of it gets some light
It'll be important for on particular scene, eh?

Thanks for the heads-up, DD. If I hadn't had a few hours to brace myself, I would have fainted by now.

My immediate impressions:

The Comedian:All that's missing is a cigar. Note that the domino mask has been expanded. It looks kinda like Robin's mask from the Joel Schumacher Batman movies.

Nite Owl: Very Batman-esque. Note the feathery texture and the wing design along the paunched stomach. In fact, it looks kinda like the suit was sculpted for a paunch, as opposed to the usual sculpted six-pack. The crescent moon buckle remains, but is off-center. I wonder why. Note the zipper. It strikes me as funny to see a zipper on what is otherwise a suit of armor. The goggles are very clearly flight goggles, which is a nice touch. Indeed, the entire cowl looks like -- again -- something Joel Schumacher might have designed for his Batman movies. Except those horns. The horns are just a touch too prominent for my liking.

Ozymandias: Note that the golden circlet has been replaced with a wreath of golden olive leaves. Nice touch. Can't wait to see what that looks like in profile. Note the nipples. Again, a classic Joel Schumacher touch. I don't know what to make of the Eye of Ra on his crotch. Overall, this looks like a design that dances on the edge between heroic and villainous. Let's face it, Batman has had more villainous suit designs than this.

Rorschach: Why mess with perfection?

Silk Spectre: A shame her wig is blocking so much. Nice use of yellow and black. The garters and upper thigh add quite a bit of sex appeal without the impractical neckline of the graphic novel outfit. I'm glad they kept high-heels in the ensemble; Here they look ridiculous, but just enough for a parody. I wonder if they kept that skull choker. I hope not. All in all, it's very flattering and it does wonders for her figure, but I'll bet Dreiberg will have a nightmare getting it off her.

All in all, I am extremely impressed. Snyder said he was going to design the costumes as parodies of current movie superhero conventions while keeping true to the characters, and I'd say he did.

Now where the hell is Doc Manhattan?

I kinda like the concept of nipples on Ozymandias' costume. Remember, these are supposed to comment on past superhero costumes; I'm sure the nipples were a conscious decision to reference movies like "Batman & Robin".

Granted, the Ozymandias costume is a little busy, but it's also appropriate. It reflects Veidt's vanity.
