Watchmen director admits theatrical version is good but that this cut “is the movie.”

I feel good, especially now people have had the chance to see the Director's cut… a lot of fans who thought the original cut of the movie wasn't what they wanted have said they liked this version and that's cool as they're the hardest ones to please.

Here's to you, Mr. Snyder.

So basically what he's saying is that the Director's Cut is the definitive version of the film, and the Ultimate Cut will just be fanboy porn.

My hope is that someday, it won't be called The Director's Cut, it will just be called Watchmen, and the TC reduced to a low-quality Disc 2 extra. I wonder... what will become of the Ultimate Cut?

On cutting Hollis' death: "It works, but it sucks." Well said Zack, haha!

Yep. The Director's Cut is Zack's cut. Even if WB said, he could have made the theatrical cut 4 hours long, he would have not spliced Black Freighter into it. This DVD is really just for us fans who want to see what it would look like.

I love TBF in the book, but it's wise of Snyder to not cram TBF down the movie's throat. Just one of those brilliant things that works so well in graphic novel form but could never work in a film. But for fans, it should be interesting.

I guess it's good that the Ultimate Edition is going to be expensive. So, only the die-hard will see it.

The Director's Cut is a really good name for a Hollywood barbershop.

Ok so the Directors Cut is "the movie" yet only the Americans and Canadians can buy it.

I'd say blame marketing for that. ): It's not a Zack desition it's a Warner Bros./ Fox one.

I'm sure the director's cut will remain my preferred version even though I'll end up with the ultimate edition because I'm just too much of a fan not to own it. Unless it doesn't come out on dvd...
