Yes, a majority of these are tweaked a bit, mostly due to reduce the noise (aka graininess).

Well, if we are including photography, I will add my deviantart gallery here. I just openned my gallery, so I don't have a lot yet, however, I've been taking photos for many years now. I focus (pun intended, LOL) mainly on nature and flowers. I'll probably put a few more up in the next few days.

In as far as these particular photos go, I've taken then with a fujifilm finepix camera, 10 mega pixels. More than my semi pro camera. Which reminds me, I'm going to have to dust that off soon!

Just recently started doing this as I downloaded Gimp ( a freeware photoshop-esque programme for mac). I just thought it would be good if we could have a thread to share our work/ ask for help and just general discussion about this sort of thing as it is quite complicated, and I love seeing what other people have produced etc. On a previous forum I was on there used to be competitions with certain criteria, and sig requests, so I just thought it would be nice to start a thread on this subject here.

Enjoy.

Should I merge this into the awesome pictures thread or the art, sketches, etc. thread?

Well I looked at awesome pictures and I didn't really think it would fit there, so merge it with the latter.

Hey guys, been awhile. I've been lurking but had nothing to say till now.

http://i745.photobucket.com/albums/xx99 ... /006-1.jpg

Never done anything like this before. It started out as a normal portrait, but I got frustrated when I couldn't get the girl's skin color right, so I said "Fuck It" and just started randomly painting lines....I ended up with this. Tell me what ya think. So far the only reaction I've gotten is "It's creepy." I'm not sure why, but I'm kinda pleased by that response. It wasn't my intent, but I guess that's how it ended up.

But I'd like to hear what you guys think. :)

It really does look creepy upon first glance, but when I look at it more closely it looks to me like her eyes are closed which makes her seem sad. It seems kind of ironic considering that she's made up of so many bright colors. I don't know if that's right, but that's what I got from it. In any case, I think it looks good.

And now so I'm not shrapneleled left and right with "Godziller's flirting with Jester" bombs, I'm going to compliment this person too.

Btw, it's not that I didn't like your Bruce Willis picture too; It's just that the last two striked me as being particularly cool.

Not that Bruce Willis isn't cool.

haha yeah Aliens and Bullet Benders kinda got John Mclane beat in the "cool" section.
I just bought all the Die Hard movies on bluray and was reminded of how badass he is. SO why NOT do a picture of him.

I hope this doesn't sound like a back handed compliment, but that's pretty good! Nice line work.

Out of curiosity, will your story take place in my hometown? :)
