I wanted to let you guys know about a new book - Watchmen As Literature...

Image

I just received an advance copy and so far, it's very good. I'm also pretty psyched because the website, and yours truly, is cited and quoted in the book several times. The author, Sara, who I've been interviewed by and met at a Comic Con, used this website as one of her resources while writing her book. Needless to say, I'm honored and thrilled. Here's what she wrote about this website in the book's bibliography...

Watchmen As Literature wrote:
...WatchmenComicMovie.com... The most comprehensive website for everything Watchmen. The regularly updated site features information on the film, the comics, and other products from the world of Watchmen. Sections of the website include links to Alan Moore interviews, analysis and criticism of the graphic novel, numerous news items and interviews related to the film and much more. The website also includes a discussion forum where users can post their thoughts on the Watchmen film and graphic novel.

How cool is that! Thanks, Sara!

Everyone, please go a buy Sara's book!

Very cool. Can't wait to read more.

It's good to see that the new Watchmen books are still rolling in, to some degree.

Oh cool.

I'll definitely be buying this.

If my campus bookstore received this, that would be awesome. Otherwise I have to travel to the Barnes & Noble across the street!

Pack lightly but wisely for your long and perilous quest.

Oh I know, every time I've been there I spend an hour easily. Also, I have no cash, so I would just read the book in the store first.

It's funny how they actually allow you to read books there. They have armchairs and everything. I never do that, though. I should take advantage of it.

Oh it's quite a good advantage, I got away with reading Absolute V For Vendetta that way.

i guess they figure no one is going to read a whole book there, they'll read a bit and then buy it. perhaps they underestimate the amount of cheapskates with time to burn in the world.

The Borders bookstore in Auckland, New Zealand has coffee, couches, tables... and it's in a cineplex. Sweeeet.

The one in Brisbane is the same. Except minus the cineplex part.

Yeah....

Anyway, do you guys know what section this would be in? I'll probably go to Barnes and Noble tonight.

I would definitely give this book a read. I always like critical analysis on deconstruction novels and art.

They didn't have the book at the store (I didn't think they would) but I ordered it.

Should be here in three days and then I'll finally have some fire kindle.

Oh wait, maybe I should read it.

Well, I got it for forty bucks without the discount from my membership card.

Of course, I don't know if it's coming...

Hey, guys. Guess what came in the mail today right on time.

If you guessed the namesake of this thread then you'd be right. ;)
