It's not just the story, it's how the story is told. There just aren't any comics out there that make such effective uses of video game references, caption boxes, witty dialogue or cartoonish violence.

Here are some early first impressions of an unfinished cut of the movie that was recently screened:http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/node/43695

That's good to hear, and I really do think Michael Cera is going to be fine in this. His dual role in Youth in Revolt proves he can do something different.

Dear Edgar Wright,

I'd like a trailer, please. Like...now. Now. NAO.

Not big news, but Bryan Lee O'Malley seems to confirm that Metric will be providing the music for The Clash At Demonhead:http://destroyerzooey.livejournal.com/

I believe Envy Adams, at least as far as looks go, is based on Emily Haines of Metric.

FIRST TRAILER!!!!

Nah just fucking with you, but the first teaser poster was released today:
http://www.firstshowing.net/2010/03/17/ ... ent-229430

I like the tagline: "An epic of epic epicness." I think that sets the tone for this movie nicely.

anyone know the difference between the 2 versions of the series, the covers where the volume number is small and where the volume number is big? they seem to be published by different companies at different times, but does anyone know which version is better?

I'm willing to bet that they were published in different companies. Like one's the American release and the other's the Australian release or something like that.

In any case, I'm willing to bet that Scott Pilgrim is Scott Pilgrim is Scott Pilgrim. Go with whichever one's cheaper and/or has the more attractive cover.

the ones with the big numbers are Oni press, the ones with the small are called Forth Estate or something like that, and have only recently started publishing them, like this year.
there is only a 2 day difference between the release dates vor Vol 6.
i've already ordered all 5 of the Fourth Estate ones. because they seem to be in stock more often.
also their sizes are different

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scotts-Pilgrims ... 022&sr=8-2
Image
19.2 x 12.8 x 1.6 cm

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scott-Pilgrim-P ... 022&sr=8-8
Image
18.5 x 12.7 x 2.3 cm

and some of the books have different number of pages too, the oni ones seem to have about 200 pages, and the fourth estate ones have about 400!! not sure why though :S

The second one is the type I've seen in shops, so I'd assume the older kind is actually out of print now...
