Where in T.O was this? I'd like to know so that I can avoid that place in future. I've seen mice near the subway tracks a few times but never rats, thankfully. If I saw a cockroach in a bathroom I'd flush and quickly get out of there.

In Toronto there is good reason to be cautious of the platform as there have been a high number of people being pushed onto the tracks. There is also an unusually high number of people jumping in front of the oncoming train (Taken from some news site):
