Would you scream?

Would you kill it?

Would you just leave it alone?

In January my boyfriend and I were eating at a food court downtown in the city and I went to use the bathroom. When I was in there this cockroach crawled across the wall infront of me. It was rather nasty....but I didn't scream or do anything to it. I figured I would just leave it alone. I don't like to kill things, even things like that.

It's pretty nasty though since there are a bunch of food places there.

I see rats and mice down in the subways when I take them but at least that's not where I'm buying any food. LOL. When I take the subway I'm more worried about potentially seeing someone jump infront of the trains or something since my mom witnessed that once. Either that or getting hit by a homeless person for money since one of them hit me once demanding money from me and it was rather scary. It was actually a lady though....

I'd crap myself. I hate cockroaches, and I've never even dared to step on one. But yeah, that is pretty gross.

I guess I'd just leave it alone...

And concerning subways, I always stand directly behind a pillar when I'm waiting for one. The idea that someone could just push me into the oncoming train if they felt like it freaks me out.

...so yeah.

I'd get the hell out of the place and take my dump on the fucking street.

Restaurant Owner: HEY ! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING ?

Me: What I am doing ?! Go clean your bathroom asshole !!!

I'm starting to have that feeling too. I've been using the subway a lot since I started working a month ago, the fear that someone might push me is too big.

Where in T.O was this? I'd like to know so that I can avoid that place in future. I've seen mice near the subway tracks a few times but never rats, thankfully. If I saw a cockroach in a bathroom I'd flush and quickly get out of there.

In Toronto there is good reason to be cautious of the platform as there have been a high number of people being pushed onto the tracks. There is also an unusually high number of people jumping in front of the oncoming train (Taken from some news site):

Quote:
Every year, like clockwork, about a dozen desperate souls throw themselves under the wheels of an onrushing subway train in this city.

The death toll is tragic and staggering.

From 1998 to 2007, 150 people died in subway suicides, according to TTC statistics obtained under Freedom of Information.

An additional 11 suicides occurred in 2008, TTC spokesman Brad Ross confirmed yesterday. That's 161 dead -- not including fatalities for this year.

The statistics were obtained by the Toronto Sun yesterday following a year-long appeal before Ontario's Information and Privacy Commissioner.

In that 10-year span, another 100 people attempted suicide, which often leads to disability and disfigurement. And the next year, 2008, eight tried to end their life

Highly doubtful. I visit NYC every so often but I actually live in the center of New York State near the city of Syracuse.

i'd leave it alone, i'd probably say, "hey little fella", if there was a slug there on the other hand, i'd probably complain.

In South East Asia, cockroaches are an accepted part of your urban surroundings. At the hawker centre we hang out at after band practice, there are always a couple of em around. They are BIG. And they FLY! It's in an old part of town, I think if they got rid of 'em the buildings would fall down...

Rimshot.

What is it that makes cockroaches so resilient?

Is the answer some type of pun?

I would probably crap myself in fear. Big cockroaches scare me shitless, especially if I was vulnerable on the loo. I would like to think I would complain, but I think I am probably a bit too timid and would get embarrassed.
