A thread for all things Walking Dead, because there was destined to be a thread derailment in the Currently Reading thread so here s it's own thread already.

I am currently on vol. 8 and am blown away by Kirkman's work, vastly superior to most other comics today, furthermore I am eagerly awaiting the tv series this october.

Any one else read this amazing series?

I read right until the end of the hunters storyline. I'm saving to buy the individual trades. But I do think that sometimes, Kirkman relies too much on shock value. And it's kinda sad that there's no way they are going to win, they are just postponing death.

It's awesome nonetheless.

Yeah, I just finished Vol. 8 and I have been buying the individual trades so they'll look uniform on my shelf.

So far the deaths that have pissed me off the most were
1) Tyreese, he was my favorite character (how bad ass was that hammer when he was locked in the gym?)
2) Lori
3) Judy

I really liked the prison part and now I'm curious as to where the story goes now that Carl and Rick are on the run

And this goes out to everyone please make sure you use Spoiler text.

What the hell?

Did the thread with my response get deleted? I find that both amusing and annoying.

Anyway, yeah. Walking Dead Compendium kind of cheap. Interested.

you know, since i use the alternate coulour theme, blacking out spoilers doesn't actually protect me, it's kind of annoying
spoilers for vol 8 below
i was annoyed when lori and judy got killed too, also, i was kind of annoyed when billy got killed because he was only just starting to get some good development, he was kind of ignored until volume 7 or so, i was kind of hoping he'd get together with alice or something, i don't think alice is actually seen killed, is it assumed she died?

after volume 8, who do we know for sure is alive
Rick
Carl
The Twins
Sophia
Hank

Andrea is not seen to actually die, last we see of her is falling off the RV and coughing,
Alice is not seen to die either iirc.

that's it i think

I agree, when they take a Tarantino turn and Kill Bill haha, it's a funny, they did kill him once I started to care about the character, and I'm sure that's why Kirkman did it.

Now, I think Andrea is still alive because a fall from an RV wouldn't really kill someone, and when she was koffing that showed she was still somewhat alive, but I think that Alice was shown to be killed Because The Governer is show standing over someone in a panel two panels after Andrea was shown on the ground with the Governer standing over her. He then shoots the person and calls the person a bitch.

And from your alive list you forgot Dale unless they got into some real shit once they left, He should still be alive and driving the RV.

it includes the first 8 TPBs which are about £8 each otherwise, i think the TPBs are up to vol 10 at the moment, so you only miss out on 2 TPBs

Well, the second compendium would be 49-96 so we have about 22 issues/months, so it'll still be about two years before Comp. 2.
