I don't think there is a god. And if there is I'm nothing like him.

[NOTE: Split from the "Awesome Pictures" thread. --"Curiosity Inc."]

Oh, now I get it.
On the topic of C&H styled stuff, have any of you guys read Franklin Richards: Son Of A Genius?

technically it's a lot better than the han/chewie one because both tyler and hobbes are imaginary.

Hobbes isn't imaginary, he just appears as a doll to everyone who isn't Calvin.
That doesn't mean he's not real.

"How come you'll play with your stupid stuffed tiger and not Mr. Bun?"

Hobbes is real, but he only comes to life for Calvin.

This, Hobbes is real, he's a stuffed tiger, it's his exploits that are imaginary

According to Bill Watterson:

Quote:
The so-called "gimmick" of my strip -- the two versions of Hobbes -- is sometimes misunderstood. I don't think of Hobbes as a doll that miraculously comes to life when Calvin's around. Neither do I think of Hobbes as the product of Calvin's imagination. Calvin sees Hobbes one way, and everyone else sees Hobbes another way. I show two versions of reality, and each makes complete sense to the participant who sees it. I think that's how life works. None of us sees the world exactly the same way, and I just draw that literally in the strip. Hobbes is more about the subjective nature of reality than about dolls coming to life.

Doesn't using sarcasm purple while being sarcastic cancel out the sarcasm?

It's just, saying "No, really?" makes it sound obviously sarcastic. And then you're using sarcastic purple on top of that. Seems like overkill.

It does. And I don't usually use sarcastic purple when it's extremely obvious, but since the whole point of the joke was that I was being sarcastic, I thought that making it purple would be a good idea.

And it was.

End of story.

I didn't start the thread though, it was split from another thread.
