If he'd seen it coming yeah. I mean, if he already lived through it in the future, he'd have to go through with it right? Besides, i'm sure Doc Manhattan wouldn't let anyone just push him around

The Martian Manhunter. All he'd need to do is disable Superman's mind before the physical fight started. Even if the martian didn't disable Supe's mind, he's still a trained fighter from Mars. Superman just relies on his power, no real fighting skills. That's why he's had his ass handed to him on various occasions.

In related news, the game Mortal Kombat vs. DCU was announced. They have a promo trailer for it at a few web-sites (I saw it on superherohype) which features Sub-Zero vs. Batman. The only confirmed characters so far are Sub-Zero,Scorpion, Batman, and Superman.

[NOTE: This used to be its own thread as well, before I moved it here. --"Curiosity Inc."]

How would the heroic villain Dr. Doom fare against villainous hero Ozymandias (Adrian Veidt)? I know that Veidt has a big presence in Manhattan, owns a island in the Pacific and has a big fortress in the Antarctica, but all I know about Dr. Doom is that he has his headquarters in an obscure Eastern European principality (which sounds as formidable as Ozymandias' Karnak).

Like in a fight? I'm pretty sure Doom would beat Veidt, because of his actual powers

No, i desperately want some DC movies based on Green Lanter, Shazam!, and Martian Manhunter I know what your saying, in the past Marvel has done more, but you made the point that Marvel has more, I have to say that DC has a League of Justice Bringers (if you will) that they could unleash on the main stream movie goers, but sadly they don't...

From what i've heard, a GL movie is already in the works. The protagonist will be Hal Jordan and Hal Jordan will not be associated with the JLA movie (assuming it's made). As for Shazam!. . .I hear they're changing the title of the movie to "Billy Batson and The legend of Shazam!." It's said that The Rock has been cast as Black Adam and the director wants Steve Carrell for Captain Marvel. No, seriously! To add crap to it. . .they're gunning for a PG rated movie.

And in "JLA: Tower of Babel" Batman is shown having the capabilities to take down the entire Justice League! Including, Superman, Wonder Woman, J'onn J'onnzz, and Green Lantern some powerful characters, he made a bullet that the Flash couldn't out vibrate, he made Kryptonite that wouldn't kill Superman, but seriously wound him, he found a way to make Aquaman fear WATER! and you are honestly telling me that he couldn't find some way to take down a guy in a metal suit? 8-)

:P I remember that! In a different issue, he also knocked The Green Lantern out with one punch.

See the thing is, like I was saying before hand, Batman just seems to have the 'get out of jail free card' with 'Oh he could think of a way to beat him....' for every situation possible.

Batman Vs Anyone = Batman will exploit the weakness they have, no matter what it is, he will always think of something.

The thing is, you could apply that to just about anyone, it all just gets frustrating in the end, because it's all down to how creative the writer is. Like I said, Punisher was able to take on DareDevil, Wolverine and Spider Man all at once and come out on top because Garth Ennis said so. I'm sure he could potentially outsmart anyone in the entire Marvel and DC universe if they want him to, ditto batman and every other superhero ever.

Sorry, I probably got a bit carried away...

i completely agree... and funnily enough a reprint of that punisher one-shot came out a couple of weeks ago!

i think in this case, ennis was exploiting that aspect of comics in a kind of tounge in cheek or parodical way, probably razzing on batman in a way as they are both "normal" (i.e. not super powered) vigilates with the equipment and smarts to get the job done. the difference between to two characters is that the punisher shows his face - and this therefore known by many people as frank castle, and he also isn't afraid to kill in any situation, or use force capable of killing.

Well, if it has Carrell and a PG rating, it's probably going to be made into a comedic parody of Superheroes... dumbasses

Actually, there is a one-shot called "Punisher kills the Marvel universe". And guess who kills Steve Rogers? Yup, Frank Castle.

Hell, Crossbones killed Captain America. The Punisher could easily.

You have to remember that Steve Rogers/Captain America is a normal guy. He has no superpower. He is a really strong and fast human, but that's it, he can't dodge bullets (for example: Superman. Although he doesn't need to dodge them).

we were just talking about that!

haha! someone suddenly thinks batman couldn't kill cap, but even as a super soldier he can be assassinated by with simple bullet... and yet a blast from one of iron man's hand cannons could not hurt mr. wayne, a man without any kind of "super" increased agility or healing factor? i'm starting to get really confused.

writers (or should i say dc) don't want batman to die... or ever even get close to it (knighfall being one of the rare exceptions). he's kind of a robin hood figure for the modern world... and he is certainly one of the most interesting (especially psychologically) characters out there.

dc is also notorious for not having exactly the most challenging of nemesies... batman isn't exactly going to have his last moments before a collection of umbrellas, is he?

Wait, so what is this Batman R.I.P. I keep hearing about?
Because I thought it was, you know, about someone killing Batman and someone taking his name or something (like Bucky/Winter Soldier and Captain America).

Why would Captain America be the hardest man to outsmart?

I don't know much about him, but I never heard anything about him being a tactical genius or anything.

Anyway he is indeed killed by Punisher in PKtMU

Spoilers***

Punisher mentions that cap was a great soldier, but being a WWII Veteran, he doesn't know the tricks that Frank does being a Vietnam vet, he then pulls out a pistol that he had hidden in the building they are fighting in and shoots him in the head.

End Spoilers***

well the cap had extraordinary reflexes, which is why he's able to evade most everything throw, shot or aimed at him right?

Also, going back to batman lol..

Almost all characters are balanced out. It's Strength Vs. Intelligence. Usually a combination of both. That's why superman is like indestructible, but is also borderline retarded. Once I had learned a few disciplines in MMA, I wondered, "what would superman be like if he actually KNEW how to throw a punch?" Also "what if superman knew submission holds? (the lethal kind)" Do you guys know how bad ass he would be? But that's not possible because he's too strong, and like everything else in the universe (according to me and others) there has to be balance.

Something else to consider, what if Batman was indestructible?
