Favreau's contract probably forbade him to talk shit about Marvel if they ever let him off the hook, hence why he would give a shitty excuse to not direct The Avengers, this one being:

"It's going to be hard, because I was so involved in creating the world of Iron Man and Iron Man is very much a tech-based hero, and then with 'Avengers' you're going to be introducing some supernatural aspects because of Thor," he continued. "How you mix the two of those works very well in the comic books, but it's going to take a lot of thoughtfulness to make that all work and not blow the reality that we've created".

That paragraph right there is, in Feliciano's book, pure fail :?

That is pretty fail, actually. Especially when you consider the true origins of the Asgards. It's not tech based, but at least it's still science fiction.

Actually, think about ti, Favreau has an attachment to Iron Man, he pretty much has built the popularity for the character in the mainstream world and when given thte choice who would he give screen time to thor or Iron-man? As terrible as it is it would be like having a parent coaching a kids sports team. They have 7 kids that can play the position but in their heart they want to give it to their kid so he/she can shine. I think Favreau would have fallen into the comfort zone of Iron-Man instead of giving them all their proper time and respect.

Just so we're clear I love both ron-Man movies and Elf, Swingers, Couples retreat and Favreau was the only good thing about Daredevil so I'm not bashing him... just playing devil's advocate for marvel

That's actually a really good point, but I just hope that he comes back for Iron Man 3 which I assume is still happening.

And so far, Joss Whedon sounds like he knows what he's doing so I'm glad he's the guy who got the job.

Marvel may be stupid at times but they are not stupid enough to let Iron Man die, or at least not stuid enough to chase off it's daddy

And if this is at all like his work on Astonishing X-Men every kid will have equal playing time

Now would that be another Hulk reboot, or would it be a continuation of TIH, and just do a Katie Holmes -> Maggie gyllenhal (I don't care if I spelled that wrong)?

I wonder

No way. Marvel's way too committed to this continuity they're establishing. If they were willing and able to swap Don Cheadle for Terrence Howard without batting an eye, that's probably what they'll do for Mark Ruffalo as well.

I'd see it, I didn't realize who Mark Ruffalo was until I had watched Shutter Island for a second time.

Ruffalo is the man.

If Marvel actually rebooted The Incredible Hulk for a third time I'd smash my head on my keyboard repeatedly.

Agreed. As much as I hated TIH (and I do hate that movie), I see no point in redoing the franchise for a third time. I just hope Ruffalo makes a much more interesting Banner than Norton was.

Also I don't necessarily understand people who love Shutter Island. And by love, I mean LOVE that movie. Don't get me wrong, it's a good movie. Just not a great one. And certainly Scorcese's weakest.

Yes, he does. But Renner has stated that they're going with something along the lines of this:
