You know how there's a banned book list? well now there are some banned GN's and with the notable exception of DKSA the list contains some of the greatest GN's out there.

I want to see some of you guy's reactions to the reason they cite for banning Watchmen... and it's not what you think it would be

Wow, I can't believe Maus is on that list. Maus, of all graphic novels!

I bet it's because the Nazi party didn't like them being portrayed as pussies (ba dum chi), just like how the Communist party banned Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for their portrayal of Reds as soulless beings. That, and they said Cate Blanchett's accent was crap.

Well, I didn't like how Watchmen was deemed "inappropriate for the audience" they act like it was targeted at 10 year olds

It's a comic, what do you expect?

People think that because it's in that medium, it's for kids. Kinda like how certain actors seems to attract certain audiences (Jim Carrey is an example).

My catholic high school didn't even talk about comics... which saint was your school named after The Saint of Killers?

They always feature books in the front of the library, and last year, Watchmen and other graphic novels were featured. I guess they never read it.

Interesting, Watchmen wasn't featured at my school's library, yet they still had a copy.

My highschool had MAUS and Asterix. My college had V for Vendetta, a few trades of Miller's Daredevil, The Long Halloween, Hush and a few others that I can't remember.
