we don't get a black Friday, I don't see how it makes economic sense to have a sale before Christmas anyway! we have all our sales starting boxing day

Same here. Actually, I think stores are having sales on here to try and compete.

Even though I'm English, like AvatarIII, I was able to take advantage of Black Friday via Amazon and Steam.

Twin Peaks complete - £21/$32
Batman: Arkham Asylum - £5/$8

and

Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time
Eufloria
Iron Grip: Warlord
VVVVVV
World of Goo

for a total £4/$6

I'm really bummed out that I missed the Goldeneye for the Wii for my brother. I promised him it for Christmas when the trailer first launched, and could've saved a heap when the Collector's Edition (with Xbox 360 style controller) was selling for £30/$46. Oh well, a great haul of presents for me!

I didn't go shopping on Black Friday. Firstly, because I'm out of town for the holiday weekend and snowed in (help!). Secondly, because I feel that if you go to a mall or a big retail store on Black Friday, then you deserve what happens to you.

Yeah, I didn't go shopping today because, contrary to popular belief, I don't enjoy being stepped on.

True, but if 100 people buy something at $00.75, it's more than 50 people at $1.00

That's the reasoning that more people will buy if it's less, sure there's a guaranteed market, but if you have the best prices the volume will make up the price cut and you can best the other stores... and then eat their hearts and gain their courage... their yummy, tasty courage
