Can't wait, Highland Laddie was a blast, especially the twist ending.

Wasn't a bad story, but the whole deal with the drug dealer was absolutely pointless, still, the twist ending was great indeed.

This is definitely the story I've been wanting ever since I first saw Butcher's debut in the first issue where he was sitting on a park bench, looking up in the sky, seeing some superheroes and saying "I'll have you, you fucking cunts"

Fuck yeah !

I'm glad it's going to be drawn by Darick Robertson, that is certainly a very good surprise !

If Garth Ennis says that THIS is the story he wanted to tell ever since issue # 1, then I think it's a pretty good reason to get excited.

Dude, even if Ennis didn't say that I would be geeking out

SO...

...Garth Ennis killed Tigra, hilarious !

I liked this issue, you get into the right gear after the previous two and it gets easier to read, still, despite everything, I still fucking hate the art.

EDIT: This'll teach me to FINISH reading an issue rather than posting as I'm reading through, that said, I have to say that the shit has hit the fan, can Hughie take on Butchie himself ?

Ennis is really bringing the goods with this one, and it is a goddam pleasure to have Darick Robertson back in action.

It was... decent. I wasn't blown away by anything with this issue, and I'll be honest... i feel like Ennis is running out of steam.

I felt cheated with this issue.

I think we can all agree that Hughie is the "audience proxy" of the story, that's not to say he is a bad character, he is a great one, I say this because, accepting that Ennis writes Hughie as if he were us makes me think that it was indeed a legitimate concern that he had absolutely no idea about what to think of The Boys, Butcher or of Vought Incorporated, I thought it was a legitimate concern that he was asking "Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys ?".

Only to have MM basically saying, if you're asking that question, you haven't been reading this book.

Are you fucking kidding me Ennis ?

Well I was reading your post it dawned on me why we're both so Mary Elizabeth Winstead about this issue... Butcher Baker Candlestick Maker was #1 was so damn good, that this average issue was a disappointment in many ways. After seeing Robertson again, Braun seems lackluster... just a guy aping a superior artist. After seeing Ennis doing something he's wanted to do and getting a story just going, it's hard to come back to a stroy that has two maybe three arcs left and (let's be honest) has been getting a bit repeatitive on the sex and gore. I think if Ennis hadn't just delivered such an awesome start to BBCM... this issue might have been more satisfying.

Scalped > The Boys

So Smutty, you read this yet? I kind of want another opinion, and I think we're the only ones who regularly read The Boys

Seriously?
I don't think I've ever been as disappointed by a comics series as much as Kick-Ass 2 continues to.
At first I put the lack of narrative down to its cut-up format in CLiNT, offering little to sink your teeth to.
But for me it's become thoroughly apparent that Millar simply doesn't have anything decent by way of ideas for this follow-up run - a sequel for the sake of a sequel.
I think partly that's due to his attempt to sustain a dual continuity, the outstanding end to the original comics run and the not-so-great end to the film.
But mainly it's just a cash-in.
Millar is fantastic when he's got a fresh concept. He'll run riot and take you places. Here, he's uncomfortable and it shows. Weaker than American lager.

ok to be brutally honest, i agree, i's nowhere near as good as KA1 was, but come on, you ruined my fun teasing Brooklyn
interestingly in the newest CLiNT there is a letter asking why the issues are nearly always late, and apparently it's because pretty much everyone is only doing KA2 in their spare time, the response was worded in a way to make it sound like Millar et al were are doing us a favour by writing KA2 at all, but really all that was being said was that everyone is pretty much phoning it in for KA2 since they all have other projects that they are working on.

Im not disgusted by KA2, but it's not as good as the former (ah the curse of sequels continues)
