Well I assume it's the same in Britain, but in Australia we call them soft drinks

Soft drinks, fizzy drinks, but mainly it's just the brands, e.g. Coke.
Oh, and Sprite, 7up, etc is lemonade.

Egg creams.

Well, that's the technical term yes, but you don't have anything more slangish? pop? soda? cola?

Well cola is stuff like Coke and Pepsi. The black stuff.
In Australia a slangword for Coke is The Black Ambulance because it stops you from feeling dead when you're hungover.

i assume it's the same all over, but all "colas" are generally called "Coke" regardless of if it's actual coke, pepsi, or a cheapo supermarket brand, which is pretty slangish, since it's not very accurate, it's like calling all vaccuum cleaners "hoovers"

but yeah we don't really have any slangish all encompassing terms, like AYB said, fizzy drinks or soft drinks is good enough, i mean it's not like soft drink has any more syllables than soda anyway, and i can't really think of a time when you'd need to say soft or fizzy drink, and not just "drink"

For the most part it like that in America where all the colas are called Coke. (and my dad works for Coke so that grates at me)

This conversation is boring. It makes me want to drink.

Yep, it was a team effort. I wasn't sure we were gonna get it done, but in the end, we got the laugh we needed. The collaborative process has its ups and downs, but when things go your way the results end up being....magic.

Friends! Lovers...
It is time.
We all knew this day would come.
I must retire the signature that accompanies my every post with such vigour.
But lest nancy123's words of wisdom be lost unto history, I believe this thread shall serve as a suitable vessel for its glory, until one would have the courage to wield its power themselves.
But, in the meantime...

I must admit, I didn't think much of Malik when I first layed eyes on him. He looked like a stiff breeze would just blow him over. That was my first impression of the man. I could see why some of the boys took him for snobby. He had a quiet way about him, a walk and a talk that just wasn't normal around here. He strolled, like a man in a park without a care or a worry in the world, like he had on an invisible coat that would shield him from this place. Yeah, I think it would be fair to say... I liked Malik from the start.

Then when are we going to get a proper trailer

When are they gonna get to the fireworks factory?

Adapting a real life event to a movie is not a remake, I don't care how smart you think you are... it's just not.

I'm not. I didn't even say any cursewords. I just don't like him because he portrays Australia in a terrible way.
If someone killed my parents I'd do more than say they're shameful and say "YEAH" in capital letters.
