Just got this fella off ebay...

Obviously it's comics merch rather than film merch, so I'm curious as to its history.

Are you sure? It looks a lot more like the movie costume to me. Then again, the two are very similar.

This is the movie version:

I want to get it now because it's the exact same pose, but mine's definitely from the comic. Check out that blue!

Notwithstanding the extraneous shiny metallic bling worn only by the movie version and reproduced on your keyring , i.e. left shoulder segmented rigid armour, fastening inserts on the sculpted 'muscle suit' chest piece, belt clasp, knee pads and shin guards, the clincher has to be the fact The Comedian of the comic doesn't wear any protective elbow pads... ever.

This one is also currently being offered for sale on eBay, from a seller additionally listing a Comedian version looking suspiciously like yours; I'm guessing unlicensed knock-offs:

I finally got my hands on a Grenadier metal figures set from the 80's. Got it for 80 bucks from eBay. Open in very good condition. Should receive this week.

And my wife thought my obsessive collection of Watchmen crap ended with the HeroClix set! muhahahahha!

OK, a little bit of buyer's remorse. Awful detail on the figures.

I still need to catalog and inventory my entire collection (it's massive). It's been WAY too long.

Whilst we're on the subject of material acquistion...

With no prior mention of it having appeared around this particular forum, I'll assume that no-one here arranged to partake in this particular forthcoming event?

If so... despair ye not. By way of consolation, why not instead treat yourself to an early Chrimbo pressie on account of this unique purchasing opportunity having presented itself? Happy bidding!

Wowzers.

If I got that, I would totally use it to blog venom all over adaptations of my work.
