So i got caught up on detective comics and Daniel sucks ass as a writer. Now if they had Snyder writing and daniel doing art that would be a great Batman book

When left to his own devices, Daniel is a dread on this Earth, both as an artist, and as a writer.

I haven't seen enough of his art "on his own devices" but in the two issues i read I wasn't offended by lack of quality

He's upped his game for the new 52, but I still have horrible images of Dick "Mr. Olympia" Grayson in my head !

In my opinion the art was by far the best part of detective

Didn't Daniel do the art for some of Morrison's run or did he have help?

He did, as a matter of fact.

Then again, Daniel's art is very susceptible to the right kind of inking, I think he has suffered from a lack of a good inker lately.

But there's no excuse for the deformity that was shown in Batman # 712.

I think so, whatever it's called, there was certainly a need for some of those dark, brooding shadows that were lacking in Daniel's art after RIP.

Have you seen mallrats?

Are tracers the same thing as pencilers?

Probably not, right?

No, penciller does the artwork, an inker finishes it. The penciller is the main artist you see on the credits page, he just does pencil pages and sends it to an inker who goes over it with markers and fills in the shading and outlines 9some artists ink their own work) then it goes to a colorists and the colors are added finishing the art for a page. Then off to letterer et al.

I messed up it wasn't mallrats it was chasing amy... there's a scene because one of the main characters is an inker and he's mocked because he's just a tracer

Kay, I get it now. I actually missed the point of your original comment at first and thought you were saying inkers and tracers were separate things.

Nope, just a chasing Amy reference

Not sure if this is the right topic.

But I don't think this is going to turn out well:

Batman #2 - solid comic with a fantastic fight scene.

Catwoman #2 - Bat-sex, tits, and brutally murdered women.
I know what my favorite comic of the week is :)

This guy.

Anyway, I've been really busy lately so I've got to catch up on last week's comics as well as today's.

Other than the brutally murdered women part, I mostly sort of agree. I do really like this series, but I also really enjoyed Blue Beetle #2

Justice League #2 is by far the best issue* of the week

So, anyone still keeping up with this?

Detective Comics #3 - I'm slowly starting to warm up to this. Pretty solid issue.

Action Comics #3 - still awesome. I like that even as Clark Kent, Superman is an asshole.
