Since recently some people here went Gaga for Johnson's masterpiece "Brick," I figured that an early review of the movie would be interesting.

I read the script for this, and it sounds fucking phenomenal.

Interesting concept !

Though Mr. Devin Faraci needs to learn to write, I understood nothing about the movie.

To be fair, I'm sure he has some restrictions on what he can or can't say about the film.

You know, I would wish I would blackout because maybe that way I would wake up and it would be next year, and I could see the movies. But then again, maybe not, since I also want to see The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises and I need to do my last college classes. I do want to graduate next year, so I'll just wait it out. But yeah, thanks for seeing the glass half full, Curi :P

looks absolutely phenomenal. I love the gritty, dirty effect they're going for; it's a nice contrast from the clean aesthetic that most modern sci-fi is known for nowadays.

Was just going to say this. He looks weird because they tried to make him look like Bruce Willis (since he's supposed to be the younger version of his character). But what's up with his eyebrows?

Seriously, it looks really unnatural.

Hmmm

...okay.

Did they accomplish that with cgi then or what? I've never heard of a movie where they changed the actor's appearance to such a large degree, it's pretty strange.

Image not showing up.

Anyways, I think it was just done with prosthetics. Still, he looks nothing like Willis.

I can somewhat see it in the facial structure. But I think most of the frustration comes from knowing what JGL actually looks like. Whether he pulls it off all depends on his acting.

Couldn't they have just blackened Willis' eyebrows and given him contacts ?

Or just shave JGL's head !

True. I think it would be way too distracting.

Or try to get two actors who actually look like one another?

He doesn't even look like young Bruce Willis. The hair more or less looks like JGL's (and is too full, and dark).

Image

Even stranger is how they shaped his eyebrows. It looks like makeup, and combined with the blue contact lenses, looks just weird.

Probably, but Rian Johnson has worked with JGL before, and wonderfully I might add.

And really, who would pass a chance to have goddamn Bruce Willis in their movie ?

Is there even an actor out there that even remotely looks like Bruce Willis?
