Question... Does anyone care what the Watchman (sic) GN is about anymore?
If the use of "anyone" above also encapsulates the suits at DC along with certain comics creators out there, then that very question goes and puts this thread nicely back on topic once again. Hopefully, that's o_ok with certain parties?
What makes Watchmen sacred? This thing that can't be touched? Even the Bible has a sequel. Let me put it this way...
I love the movie Highlander - every sequel, IMO, was a complete piece of shit
I love the movie Planet of the Apes - every sequel, IMO, was a complete piece of shit; as well as the remake.
I love the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - the remake, IMO, was unwatchable.
I despise the Star Trek reboot film as well as a handful of the TOS and TNG films. I still love much of what Star Trek exists.
I love the BBC's Being Human - the Syfy series, IMO, is total shit.
None of the things above are "ruined" or "sullied" because a crappier counterpart exists.
The "suits" Will always do what may make them some bank. We can love it, hate it, boycott it.
Watchmen is no different. I may hate the prequels - but who really cares if they make them?
Hell, if they are making them. isn't it better, as fans, to at least voice what we think would be the best approach; do the least "damage" so to speak?
It's like Synder taking on making the Watchmen film because it was happening with or without him.
