Thats not funny. :|

I've actually been thinking alot about the Rocketeer recently.
Everytime I watch Sky Captain, I see the potential for another Rocketeer movie.
I love movies set in that era.
Which is also why I'm pining for a 30's Batman.
And another Phantom movie.

How did we get on this topic in a thread about the Spider-Man reboot? Particularly when we have a nice bit of recent news to mull over?

I thought you wanted a 40's Batman?

I die a little inside every time someone doesn't talk about Spider-man when they're supposed to.

It wasn't me.

Wouldn't it be weird to have a batman movie set before the character was created? Unless it was at the very end of the 30s

I thought you wanted a 40's Batman?

Yeah, sorry. Not exactly a typo, just was distracted, thinking about this game I played once set in the 30's.
40's. My bad.

But yeah Sam, what do you think about Chris Pine as the Rocketeer?

and as for Spider-Man, I am actually really looking forward to it.
More than Superman or TDKR. I really dig Andrew Garfield and think he'd make a perfect Peter Parker.
Dare I say... better than Maguire?

and what recent news? The PEZ thing?

That's right. Allegedly, those photos inadvertently gave us our first look at The Lizard.

I've been noticing that as a recurring trend lately. I remember that our first look at JEH's Freddy Krueger came in the form of a statuette. Additionally, for how airtight Michael Bay tried to make his Transformers films, they were still leakier than a sieve for all the photos finding their way out of Hasbro. Toy companies in general seem to be much less oriented around secrecy than Hollywood productions. They'll need to fix that.

As for the Lizard itself, I don't think it's all that bad. I'm actually more intrigued than ever to see the final product now. Then again, I understand that Sony is putting so much time and money into getting the monster right that the end result may look completely different anyway.

Ditto. And... so may the PEZ dispenser.

Hate it. He's not funny and he's not even slightly quirky or goofy looking, he's just a bland prettyboy action actor

he was my top choice for who to be Cap actually.

as for the Pez thing, i was thinking about the difference between that and the leaked photo of the CGI lizard, my guess is both are genuine, the Pez dispenser is what the Lizard will look like most of the time, and the monster thing is either a further mutation or a creation of the Lizard's.

Does that PEZ thing remind anyone else of the Super Mario Bros movie?

I didn't see that. Now I can't unsee it.

Obviously, there's no way of knowing if that picture is authentic or how early it is. Still, between that and the Pez dispenser, I think I'm starting to get a pretty clear idea of where they're going with this character's design.

I doubt that would be the final version of the Lizard. For Sony's sake, I hope not!

I haven't seen Star Trek, but Smoking Aces was terrible.

About Pine in SA ? Pretty forgettable to be honest, it's a role that any other mid-thirties male could've played.
