Dr. Curt Connors

One of Oscorp’s leading scientific minds, Dr. Connors attempts to engineer a revolutionary regeneration serum to help re-grow limbs and human tissue. His motivations are unclear as to why he elects to be the first human test subject – but what becomes evident is that something goes horribly wrong.

Wait...so does he have both of his arms in this movie? Why the fuck would he test himself then?

Says "unclear", not "absent".

Look closely at his right arm, you'll notice the sleeve is either pinned or hemmed up, meaning he doesn't need the full sleeve for whatever reason, most likely because he's missing and arm or at the very least a large chunk of his arm, including his right hand.

It would seem his motivations would be pretty clear seeing as he's missing a limb.

That's marketing for ya.
Function, not accuracy. The line's there to suggest suspense and intrigue.

They clearly just have misconceptions about marketing

Ok, I get that was an attempt at a joke, but that's just no good. Marketers know marketing, duh.

And with that, let us never speak of that again.

And then there's this. I think I can certainly get on board the "Drool over Emma Stone" wagon at this point.

The eyes of the costume look weird. I get what they were going for, but it's not a particularly elegant design.

You're too kind.

The costume is shit.

I've tried to get my head around for a while about why they decided to make a redesign whose differences can barely be noticed on an environment that does not have Spider-Man standing still, in a fully litted room, and in close-up shot of the suit, it's fucking absurd, was there a problem with keeping the exact same suit and calling it a day ?

I can understand why they wouldn't keep the same suit. This is a reboot. The problem is as far as designs go, it's a poor one. First, the eyes are yellow. I don't get why they did that. And second, the eyes look too close together. The shape is off. It looks like they were aiming for this:

But their costume's eyes are too angular. It looks fine when seen at an angle, but straight on it look weird. I think Alex Ross's take was the best.

I don't know, I think it looks fine.

And I kind of dig the yellow eyes.

The new costume looks just marginally better than handmade, which is what I'm betting the filmmakers were going for. The previous costume looked way too sleek for Peter Parker to possibly have designed and constructed himself, but if I squint and turn my head sideways, I might almost bring myself to believe that it could've been handmade by a high school science geek.
