what are your guys thoughts on an adaption of Batman Beyond sure as hell would be different from nolans take?

It'd pretty much have to be Blade Runner...WITH BATMAN!

And it would be awesome if done right.

Meh. Batman always works in a crime fiction setting.

I've always thought that Bats going toe to toe with aliens and other super-human entities rather stupid.

You don't read comics though, so, yeah. Go away.

to be fair I think of aliens as Superman and GLs area, mythical shit is WWs and sci/tech based baddies is Batman's, I can't really imagine batman fighting aliens on his own, but I have nothing against batman going up against shapeshifters, mutants or power suits.

Given that he was created to showcase that a simple human can take on foes that required super-human beings(and even against foes that won against super-human ) to beat. That being said, I prefer to leave the aliens shabang to more "universal" heroes like Green Lantern.

Best shit ever...

An example of what I was talking about previously:

Sci-fi=Clayface and Freeze

Supernatural=Ra´s Al Ghul and any other villain associtated with myths, magic and whatnot....

People don't always grasp this concept. Batman fights bizarre characters but that doesn't eman they have to be aliens. Look at Killer croc, he's a mutant but he probably wouldn't make it into the Nolanverse because his condition isn't "real"

But I do, actually.

Look, I'm fine with some of the more "fantastical" moments in the comics, it's just that I don't find it particularly interesting when Batman is thrust into the "Lord of all prep-time" role just so that he can keep up with the other super beings.

Here's the thing: Those characters certainly embrace Batman's more pulpy side, but they're done in a way that's typically grounded.

People say this as if Batman NEVER got his teeth kicked-in by super-beings.

well, he almost did, but he knew it was going to happen so he reinforced his bat-teeth so they wouldn't be kicked in.

Never said he was invincible. Just said he's given a handicap just so he doesn't look useless compared to Superman.

Well, in some stories, like Tower Of Babel, Batman's paranoid preparations are shown to be a near-weakness

Yeah, his lack of trust is really the catalyst for the downfall of the JLA

It´s not "Lord of Prep-time". It´s called being a genious(against enemies) and having some serious trust issues(against friends).

Red:So you are saying that we could see Clayface, Freeze, Poison Ivy in a Nolan inspired Batverse?

They are not grounded, nor can they be made grounded. Black mask can be grounded. The Penguin can be grounded. The Riddler can be grounded. Prometheus could be grounded. But those three can´t be grounded. To be made and resemble their "parent characters" sci-fi aspects would have be embraced.

Embrace the dark side bro

good little interview with The Hath,

Anne, back in the day bitches were lucky to speak

Honestly, that part "We came a long way." is unnecessary. The same way that she says that the diferent versions of Catwoman difer because of the universe in wich they are inserted, the same can be said of the comics, but in a sense that the balance of powers betwenn sexs mirrors the balance that exists in the real society.

Honestly, Clayface could easily be recreated as an actor-turned-criminal master of disguise, Poison Ivy could be created as a crazy botanist/environmentalist, Freeze could be kept pretty much as-is by having everything about his character intact apart from the needing to be kept cold bit. cryogenics themselves aren't so far out of the realms of believability that it would be impossible to keep him a cryogenics expert, and keep everything with his wife true to the comics.

I've never liked the idea of Batman being a genius (even though apparently he is). For the most part I try to ignore it, I like it more when people like Superman and Luthor are ACTUAL geniuses who don't go to Batman's lengths because they're not psychotic, obsessive freaks.

Making him a "genius" is just ego-stroking a completely unnecessary part of the character.

I like Batman as a genius, I mean, the whole idea of him is very Nietzcheian, in that he trained up both his mind and body to their peak, however, I don't really like the idea of him being one of the three most intelligent people in the dcu.
Superman isn't a genius, either.

Do you use the word "genius" as in "Savant prodigy" or "trained to perfection" ?

Depends on the writer, Morrison and Straczynski say he is.
