:( I don't know how I forgot True Grit, that film was fantastic! STILL haven't seen Black Swan!

Did he put them in any particular order, though?

Edit: My top ten in no particular order would have to be...

I Saw the Devil
Sucker Punch
Source Code
Thor
Super 8
Captain America
Attack the Block
Drive
Hugo
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Cut me some slack, I barely even saw ten new films this year.

I'm not saying Drive is a bad film. It isn't. But it didn't reinvent the wheel.

Okay, here's what's happening with me.

There are two movies that I still need to see before I can comfortably finalize my Year in Review lists. Unfortunately, my whole family came down with a nasty 24-hour stomach flu and that set my schedule back a couple of days. As such, my Year in Review lists are going to be a touch late this year. That said, I feel comfortable in saying that my "Wild Rides" list is pretty much final. Remember, these are listed strictly in order of how much fun I had in the theater, regardless of thematic depth or technical proficiency. Here's a taste:

10. Rise of the Planet of the Apes
9. Fast Five / Kung Fu Panda 2
8. Captain America: The First Avenger
7. 30 Minutes or Less / Your Highness
6. X-Men: First Class

Curi is the only person that has admitted to enjoy "Your Highness". I may check it out; not that David Gordon Green directing and Natalie Portman weren't enough.

I thought AvatarIII also enjoyed it, mostly because of Danny McBride and Natalie Portman.

I still need to see it, can't believe it was actually bad according to most people, specially when it's such a great idea and with such an amazing cast.

Yep. I still don't know why anyone can't have loved it. it was a good "adultified" parody on the traditional fantasy romp, brilliant performances all round, great visuals and good world building, which all things you'd expect to see from a more serious movie.

if you loved The Princess Bride, Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, things like that, and you are an adult, and love adult comedy, you'll love it.

That said, I preferred it at the cinema to when I saw it at home on DVD, but I still liked it a lot, possibly the theatrical cut is better, but there's not a lot added in the uncut version, mostly more swearing and dwelling on certain jokes, so the theatrical version is probably tighter.

I just feel that it's very much a stoner comedy for actual stoners

That's alright because this isn't really a 2011 thread.
