So this looks like it might be pretty intriguing: http://www.amctv.com/shows/comic-book-men

It seems like a Pawn Stars-esque show about a comic book shop, so I'll definitely check it out.

Really? THAT'S why Kevin Smith has your loyalty? Not nearly 20 years of awesome film making and standing up for nerd causes? It's one run on one comic?

I'm just saying that the man has done so much to earn loyalty.

And he does shave insanely nice.

Also, The Green Hornet was already awesome.

He just made an exceptionally good comic run.

The Green Hornet's reputation was on the ground though, before Dynamite acquired the rights to publish new comics.

The guys that run Smith's comic book store appear in Mallrats, Dogma and JASBSB as guys who run a comic book store, and Walt Flanagan says in each appearance "YOU TELL EM' STEVE DAVE!"

So I guess Kevin Smith is making the move from film to TV? That's actually not a bad idea (Not the first time he's done it, given "Reaper" a few years ago)

I'm actually curious to see how it turns out because this actually seems like just another reality TV show.

But you can't miss something with Kevin Smith and comic books.

Much like JJ Abrams tv series these days, I don't think he had anything to do with it after the pilot.

So who else watched this? I was very pleased with it and thought that it portrayed comic guys as likeable people and not horrible dorks who only speak klingon and make all their decisions with d12s.

^does it matter? the fact is they exist. also, card games (i think) use d17s.

they're also kind of novelty items.
