I wouldn't go that far. It was basically scenes of characters withholding information, then suddenly offering it up. Still sick of the farm, still sick of that missing Sophia.

SPOILERS

- The show has managed to get quite a lot of character development into these last few episodes but T-Dog is still barely a character, and I feel like they keep going over the same ground.

- I am really starting to dislike Maggie. She has two settings. "I hate your guts" and "LETSHAVESEX!!". She is also, excuse my language, kind of a cunt.

- In the after show, there was talk of how Dale is kind of obtrusive, and that he's become the paternal figure of the group. He's up in everyone's grill every episode, but I keep hoping he'll have a freak out at some point. Just because it seems like he's trying to keep a handle on everyone, and it makes me think he's close to cracking himself.

- Later, we are treated to a scene of Andrea grabbing a sack full of nuts.

Image

- Andrea and Shane at least have some chemistry, which is more than I can say for Glenn and Maggie. I can buy these two being together. Glenn and Maggie, not so much.

- Speaking of Shane, he's starting to scare me. I know he was always a shifty character, but with the shaved head he just seems more muscular somehow, more threatening. I think he'll leave the group at some point and maybe become a cult leader, or something.

That might have been my response had I not had the reveal spoiled for me ahead of time. At least this should mark the end of that whole storyline. I hope when the show comes back that we'll only have one or two episodes at that farm before moving on.

I had it spoiled too, but I just didn't believe it was legit (I find that it helps in keeping the suspense, like all the times my sister ruined the big twists in Harry Potter for me).

So, I watched the episode a little late, but I wasn't spoiled.

Even then, I thought the episode was pretty good, finally what I've been expecting from this show, hopefully when it comes back in february it does so with the same quality as this one, good stuff !

So, did in anyone tune in last night? It was a decent episode, with a great ending. We may get some needed new human characters to interact with.

Update on the game, looks like they are really pushing it to clear the telltale name after jurassic park.

I was honestly dreading the return, as much as I like the show in retrospective it's just too slow. But I was forced to eat my own words because the slow-burning pace I originally loved, then hated, is now back to something I admire. There was some nice development for Rick in this episode and it had a stellar conclusion. I'm back to being interested, hopefully it goes somewhere.

At least someone else is watching the show. Did Brooklyn and feli give up altogether? I'm surprised this show never really took off with more forum members, although maybe the overall dip in quality is too blame?

Well actually !

I did saw the new episode, just forgot to comment.

I thought it was ok, I think people received it more positively due to the shittiness of the previous episodes.

Last night's episode was alright. I feel like a broken record saying this, but they really need to get off that farm. The best scenes of the episode (and this was true of last weeks) were the ones with Rick and co in the town. I've mentioned The Stand quite often in this thread, but one thing I like about it was that it created a feeling that the world had become much bigger in the absence of people. If most people are dead, or well....walking dead, that means no more cars, no more traffic, no more noise. Everything becomes quiet, and you realize the great size of the world, because it's suddenly empty. This is something the show did well in the first three episodes, but since coming to the farm, everything feels a bit too small and isolated. Even worse, because the farm has electricity, these characters are mostly living in comfort. This is something The Stand also addressed. Much of the earlier parts of the book consist of characters setting out on foot to Nebraska. They might stop and camp by the side of the road, or find a barn to sleep in, but there was a sense that everything was up for grabs. And when the characters finally meet up and try to form a little society, they also have to figure out how to get the power back on. So every meeting is done by candlelight, or in the day with the curtains open. It's like living in a permanent blackout. And people tend to act differently during a blackout, since it usually completely effects their daily routines. This show needs to create that vibe. I feel like these character are almost too prepared.

This new plot line involving another group of survivors is something that probably should have been developed sooner. Because this season is almost over, and all we've done is searched for Sophia (a character we didn't even really know), and hang out at the farm. This whole arc should have taken three episodes tops. My concern is that it will be too late to really get into any potential conflict with this group this season. And that would be a shame, since zombies make boring antagonists. Seriously, maybe that's the problem? Fans tend to want more zombies, but they don't do anything. They're super slow and super easy to kill, so what kind of challenge are they? They eventually become more of a nuisance than a menace. And when that happens the show will be robbed of some much needed drama.

I certainly didn't hate last night and I agree with t3cii's points. The show is often too comfortable and doesn't really match up with Season 1's feeling of despair and desperation the whole time.

That said, character wise things are moving a bit. It seems like the Rick and Shane conflict might finally culminate and Hershel is seeing some harsh influence from the gang. It's certainly entering a darker realm and I'm curious to what happens, I just hope we see it sooner then later.

Netflix has the first six episodes up...
I'm thinking about starting watching it tonight.
