Just finished episode 4.

Feli, I think I have to disagree with a point you amde earlier. I don't think George R.R. Martin is condemning the human race, i think instead he is critiqueing power and those who seek it. Look at the characters, the ones with the most power are the most despicable, but people like Snow (those with no power) and Arya (who doesn't want power) are actually good people.

Then take any of the Lannisters, or Viseryes Targaryn, and you realize what makes them so cruel and loathsome is their quest for power and how they will do anything to attain it.

I truly think that Martin doesn't hate humanity, instead just hates what power and politics do to people, or, put another way, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely"

He doesn't criticize humans, nor the human race specifically. But he does make different cases, both positive and negative, for several aspects of human behavior. Nowhere, and I mean nowhere will you find more "grey" characters than those made by George R.R. Martin

Also, you could indeed say good things about Snow and Arya (thought you would've also mentioned Ned Stark, huh) but I can't talk about any of them until you've seen the entire first season, once you get there, you can kinda see what Martin's "grand view" is.

Game Of Thrones isn't a story about good and evil, EVERYONE is good and EVERYONE is evil.

When you say it THAT way, I totally agree.

It's just that when you said this

Quote:
Everyone........EVERYONE......in this show is a cunt, a few more episodes and you'll see what George R.R. Martin was trying to say about humanity in general.

That I kind of got the idea that you thought this series was a rebuttal on humanity in general.

Double Post and I don't care...

I am now through episode 6, and I have to say I am loving nearly everything about this show.

I just finished episode 8, and I have to say that I hate pretty much all the children. Arya is pretty awesome, but Joffrey and Sansa make me want to commit murder

Well, Drogo is dying (I was looking for a facebook page for him to like and found RIP hal Drogo... which saddened me) and Stark just got the hard good bye.

Also, I feel like the writing is on the wall for Daneryes (which upsets me because she is a gorgeous, I mean because she's an awesoem character), but I could be wrong on this one.

Khal Drogo was indeed a fan favorite, and Jason Momoa is a really cool guy, at the last San Diego Comic Con (at the Game Of Thrones Panel) he was asked by the fans if he could do a Dothraki war scream.......and he did.

If there was a character I really liked, which caught me completely unguard when he got stabbed through the fucking eye with a knife was Jory, just when he started to get some love...BAM !!!

Then again, I don't complain much since Jamie is also a favourite of mine.

"The writing is on the wall" Where the fuck does that phrase come from ? Why is that even a synonim for death ?!

*Clears Throat*

Anyways............you should take a look at the season 2 trailer, if things go as I think they will, then you'll have blonde Namor with a vagina this april.

How could you like Jamie? He's such a dick?

It's not just death, it just means bad things are coming. That being said, I have NO idea where it comes from. It's probably some ancient custom though.

I was avoiding the trailer until after I've seen episode 10 because I don't want anything spoiled for me.

Also... blonde Namor with a Vagina? The phrase you're looking for is Namorita. Or if she had reddish hair she could totally do Dorma.

He's The Comedian of Westeros.

You'd have to see the trailer, focus on "dickishness", which Namor has in spades, and it does fit Daenerys.

Though that is the beauty of the show, it's historical as much as it is fantastical, judging them, medieval, feudal folk, with contemporary society values would be sort-of missing the point.

Dude, Brooklyn had just made it clear that he didn't know if Daenerys makes it through the season alive, and also that he hadn't watched the trailer because he didn't want anything spoiled.

I'm not ruining him the entire TV show, there's plenty of surprises to what he's going to see in the season finale.

That's actually a really good analogy.

Yes indeed !

With that in mind, and now that you've seen the finale...

...who has unlimited amounts of fire ?
