really???

It was a good movie. Only part I found lacking was the romance sub-plot.

That, and it just felt a liiiiitle rushed.

But maybe a 7.8/10?

In my humble opinion...

Iron Man - 9/10
The Incredible Hulk - 7/10
Iron Man 2 - 7.5/10
Thor - 7.8/10
Captain America: The First Avenger - 8/10

I really like em all though.
Non-studio films like X-Men: The Last Stand, and Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Fantastic 4 (both)
All pretty much get 6/10's.
Daredevil and Ghost Rider being the exceptions with 6.8/10 apiece.

All of these have their moments for sure, and all can be, for the right person, a decent spot of weekend fun.
But nothing more.

Fixed. Because if push comes to shove and you don't have decimal places to make you feel better about it, you know this is the Real Talk scale of marvel films. Excluding elektra and ghost rider 2 which would be graded as sexy trash and crazy trash respectively.

Iron Man 2 and Thor were both at least one point better than TIH.

That makes the incredible hulk a 6, which I can abide by. I'm curious as to what Ang Lee's Hulk would get. I never made it through the thing, I kept falling asleep.

Even Roger Ebert gets to rank half stars.
The decimal points were all carefully considered since any two movies can be marginally worse or better than each other.

I mean for argument's sake, if there were no margin of passability. And not comparing them to each other but just as films on their own.

Giving the Fantastic 4 movies a 6/10 is just being nice, they don't deserve a rating anywhere near that.

Eh, I think they made Eric Bana spend too much time as Banner and not enough time as Hulk. Also, the ending was blegh. I still need to see all of the Ed Norton film.

But for the rest of the Marvel continuity films, I'd rate them:

Iron Man - 9/10
Thor - 9/10
Captain America - 7 or 7.5/10
Iron Man 2 - 7/10

I enjoyed IM2 a lot, but there were a few things that should have been done that would have made it a lot better.

I am surprised, I really just don't see Thor being a 9. I can't give it more than 8 or less than 7.

The Runaways. That was pretty awesome. Music biopics are often good but the 70s setting and tone of the movie made it really cool.

but there is a margin of passability...
and we are comparing them...

Its how I rank the movies I watch.
Its my opinion.
I'll form it however I damn well please.

If you don't agree with my scores, fine.
But if you ranked a movie "4/5"
I'm not gonna bitch you didn't use 10's.

DAMN! Hahaha.

Just FYI I did say "for arguments sake." Obvi you can feel however you want about anything in your life. I was just aggressively pointing out just how much I disagreed.

It was a lot.

Oh well ;) !

I honestly wasn't THAT excited for Renner at that point in the Marvel films, what I thought was better than expected, in Thor, was Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth (didn't mention him before).

The visuals were pretty bad and I found the plot to be unnecessarily hard to follow, but sweet Zeus' beard, the actors were all fucking awesome. Woody Harrelson's performance alone is worth the price of admission, and he's surrounded by an Oscar-worthy supporting cast.

It's worth a look, just be ready to pay very close attention to the plot.

The problem I had with Captain America is that it was Joe Johnston trying to do his own Indiana Jones film.
