And I'll be caught in the fucking emotional riptide.
You'll get to hear about it then

We know none of the involved parties other than you... you don't even have to use their real names, just stop being so vague

I'm over it.

In other news I've been sober for 15 days with 15 days to go before I get my vita, and have lost 20 pounds since January.

I'm hungry.

Well, they are resolutions to troubles n' shit.

Anyway, congratulations, Mal. Why don't we celebrate with a bacon cheeseburger and a nice cold beer?

(That was a test!)

And my post belongs here because for me being sober for 30 days is an unwinnable war. That is my trouble n shit.

Wings and pasta? Maybe try cutting out one or the other.

So yesterday, my parents and I took an eight-hour drive up to Spokane so we could be here for my grandpa's 80th birthday. And a few hours after getting here, my mom collapsed. We have no idea why. One moment she's sipping tea and talking with everyone, the next she falls over onto her face.

I spent something like six hours with her and my dad in the ER yesterday. I'm glad to say that she was doing a lot better when I left, even though no one had any idea what happened. Bear in mind that even though my mom is in her mid-50s, she's still the healthiest person I know. She's been a marathon runner for the past decade, for God's sake.

Anyway, that's what I'm going through right now. Stuck away from home with my parents at the ER. Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Jesus that must've been terrifying.
The important thing is she's okay - you'll get to see them soon I'm sure.

Just got word that Mom's getting a pacemaker. It's a small one, and installing it is a simple procedure, but it's enough to keep me wallowing in family commiseration in Spokane for a few days longer than expected.

Sometimes it's good for things like this to happen rather than the problem continue to get worse until breaking point, I hope that everything is ok with your mum, and that you and your family aren't too depressed by this occurence.

It's a little late for the depression, amigo. Lucky that will pass.

Anyway, the doctors pulled enough strings that they could get the pacemaker installed today. If all goes well (as things have been going very well so far, all things considered), we'll be heading back home on Wednesday.
