If I may.

It breaks my heart to hear that AYB won't be among our number on the forum anymore. I owe him a great deal, and I hope that he enjoyed his time here on the whole. Additionally, I'm glad to know that his leaving us was relatively quick and painless.

That said, he wasn't the first member to leave this forum and I'm sure he won't be the last. It saddens me, but that's how I knew it was going to be from day one. But I'm digressing from the point.

I fail to understand why we're here discussing AYB, by way of posts that he's not going to read or reply to. As far as I can tell, any grudges or feuds he might have been part of here came to an end when he left. If you have any further problems with him, you're of course welcome to talk with him about it via e-mail or Facebook. But there's no point or purpose in discussing them here.

RIP AYBGerrardo 2007-2012 he will be missed,

I think this means i'm the last regular British poster left, apart from Tbone who isn't really regular, a sad day indeed.

He's the T-Dog of WCM.

Because this isn't the first time he's done this. Maybe you have forgotten, as you and I (and DD) are probably the only members still active who remember this, but back when the forum was in its early days, AYB got into a fight with one of the forum's members, which resulted in AYB going into a self imposed exile, and ended up with someone being banned. AYB was gone for about a month or more, then returned. If you ever visit The Vivarium, you'll find most of its members are made up of former WCM members. I believe a number of these people stopped coming here specifically because of that incident. Anyway, we're talking about it because it comes as a surprise, as AYB just abruptly decided to leave, giving no real reason as to why. If I had to guess, the fact that there was no real big outburst against NiteOwl, combined his recent feuds with Dr. Brooklyn and feliciano, convinced him to leave. Should I see him post on WCM's wall on facebook, I'll ask, although I suspect he won't want to get into it.

feliciano182 wrote:
I had fights of my own with AYB less than a week ago on the Mass Effect thread, those fights were hard, lots of name-calling, tons of back and forth, no mercy whatsoever, we disagreed...............intensely.

But I never would've wanted him to leave after so much time here, and certainly not for something as unbelieavably petty as to what you're complaining about.

I think Brooklyn has a right to feel upset. If their feud had just stayed on these boards, that would be one thing, but AYB took it to facebook, with a series of pictures making fun of Brooklyn. I think that was crossing the line.

I googled The Vivarium and found plenty of stuff that probably have nothing to do with what I was looking for

That makes it even pettier, those pictures were funny, I remember them because those were the only instances where AYB was being somewhat funny, and I never have been able to get his sense of humour.

Seriously, I don't think I would be able to remove the flesh of my left palm from my forehead if it turned out that certain people got offended by those.

If I'm thinking of the right ones, then yeah, they weren't even offensive. Just jokey.

Yes, yes, and yes.

If you're looking for The Vivarium, try adding a "yuku" to the search. I think the site was formed shortly after it was announced that there would be a Watchmen movie, and a little before this site existed. But checking out the threads over there, I notice a lot of familiar names of posters who used to post here. I don't think you get the same level of traffic over there that you would here, though.

Obviously I can't speak on Brooklyn's behalf. He probably didn't find them offensive. And I know there is a certain level of ribbing that friends do with each other. But the two of them aren't friends. And considering how personal their arguments were becoming, Ii don't think you can look at it as AYB just having a good laugh. Especially when Brooklyn wasn't in on the joke.

Yes, yes, and yes.

Those were hilarious and you're a bit misguided (trying not to say stupid) if you take them as being seriously offensive.

He's done stuff like that to me before too and I didn't get my panties in a twist.

Speaking of ridiculous funny nonsense, on that last date I actually came up with a legit plot for a story of my life that would fit the title "Chocolate Nights and Strawberry Dreams."

Although I still need to work the Strawberry in somehow...

Well, I think it would be better suited as nonfiction. Which means I really need to get my pimp/ho career in gear. But maybe a fictionalized version of my life as a pimp/ho would do.

I never said they were offensive, or that I was offended by them. Obviously he was joking. But is Brooklyn one of AYB's buddies? Did Brooklyn even comment on any of those posts? No, so it's not the same as two friends just busting each others chops.

Look, I don't want it to seem like I'm siding against AYB. To be fair, Brooklyn is just as much to blame for the feud as AYB was. But knowing that there was animosity between the two, I think he should have left things on the forum, and not bring it on facebook. That's all.
