Ask her if she's on Facebook, in person, which shouldn't be too awkward, then ask for her phone number over Facebook, then call her to ask her out. Asking for her Facebook in person is not going to be quite the same level as asking her out outright.

Well it's only Facebook,people have hundreds of friends on Facebook, and you can build up a rapport over Facebook perhaps, of she says no, you'll know it's not worth trying to ask her out.

So yesterday I was in the supermarket with my mom when I saw a beautiful girl from afar. I wanted to chat her up. Sadly, she was leaving and she was with her family and I was with my mom. So, bad circumstances and parents are the ultimate cockblock.

Maybe it's a latin american phenomenon, but at least in my life there's been a lot of hot, approachable (sp) girls usually being in the company of their mothers, which kinda fucks with one's aspirations.

When I was 15 or so, I went to the beach and I talked with a girl. Her family was there but I took my chance when she was on her own. It was a nice, little, fun time and her parents liked me. We didn't really keep in touch afterwards, though.

But yeah, it's always awkward. But anyway, meeting strange girls at random places probably isn't the best of ideas, though.
