So, make a thread. [NOTE: Taken care of. --"Curiosity Inc."]

Also they just remind me of the ones in south park

I kept hoping that this project would fall apart. It's never a good sign when production starts without a finished script, and the footage I've seen so far looks terrible.

I really do wish that the PTB realized that the sequel killed the franchise and left well enough alone.

You should know that all the script troubles they had with this one and #2 were even worse with the first.
90% of the finished story was cobbled together on the cutting room floor.

I can understand how people would NOT be excited for this...

But I can't help it.

I've always felt Men In Black has always been a missed oportunity.

To use a fascinatingly grim and mysterious urban legend and turn it into a family friendly Will Smith vehicle is nothing short of depressing.

I like the first film, but I've gotta agree wholeheartedly with that.

I never really felt these movies were precisely family friendly.
They're full of adult humor and the bug dude still creeps me out.
Would I show this to my ten year old? Probably not.

it came out at cinemas when I was 11 and me and my whole class were obsessed with it. At the time it came out we would have all been between almost 11 and almost 12, we all saw it at the theatre, I don't remember a single friend having a problem with it.

(according to IMDB though the version shown in UK cinemas was edited to get it to a PG rating but the editing was nothing to do with violence  )
Quote:
The UK PG-rated cinema version - as well as subsequent DVD and VHS releases - have been cut by the BBFC to remove the two uses of the word "prick". The offending words were over-dubbed with the words "jerk" and "twerp".

Honestly there isn't anything offensively bad about these movies in my opinion. Yeah, they're not that good or anything, but I've always taken it as light pop-corn affair: not the worst way to blow through 2 hours. I'll watch it and enjoy the chemistry between Smith and Jones (and who isn't excited for that spot-on impression Josh Brolin will bring?) while being visually pleased by the neat gadgets and alien design (which you can't deny kick ass). Surely there will be some chuckles here and there, it'll wrap up neatly at the end and that'll be that. Something perfect for a chill Sunday afternoon where I don't want to process too much heh.

That's how I've always taken these films really, the movie equivalent of a filling but plain meal. Plus Barry is always a neat guy to read interviews about.

On the matter of Josh Brolin, I must say, it is UNCANNY how similar his performance in the trailers has been to Tommy Lee Jones.

On the matter of the alien designs, really ? A giant wheel ? REALLY ?

Three reasons Why I hate this movie: By Ska Oreo

1. That is a godawful poster. Like if there were some kind of competition for what is the worst film poster out this year, I'd bet this would win it.

2. MIB hasn't been good since the first film.

3. This...monstrosity.

If anything, this film could have benefited from a cheesy Will Smith rap. But no...we get fucking Pitbull.

I was primarily referring to designer Rick Backer's actual alien creatures, not that wheel thing which admittedly is pretty unimaginative looking.

Stuff like this is really cool to me-

God, I totally agree, not that I generally like rap or hip hop music, but Will Smith at least makes fun and catchy tunes, that song is literally the must boring piece of music of all time.

Seriously, VNC, do you really think this will be the film to end the franchise? If the movie doesn't leave the door open for a fourth film or reboot the franchise entirely, then I'm Marvin the Martian.

Uh... I think he was talking about the end of the movie itself. Not the franchise...

Oh, please. I can already tell you how the movie is going to end.

There's going to be a massive pullback to emphasize just how small we are in the big scheme of things, shown in a way reminiscent of something seen earlier in the film.

This is exactly how the previous two films ended, and I don't give the filmmakers enough credit to think that they have the creativity to deviate at this point.

That may be but I think he was simply stating the movie will end. Just. Okay it will wrap up cleverly, and thats it.
No further thought need be devoted to it.
