I am not just trying to go against the grain, but I watched the most recent TDKRises trailer and in the back of my mind the whole tiem was thoughts of the Avengers...

You need new glasses, that's neither JGL nor Anne Hathaway.

I knew I could count on you.

I'm pretty sure it is just the bridges. Maybe Bane has warned Gotham that the bridges would be destroyed, giving whoever wants to leave the city one final chance? So JGL is looking on in expectancy?

I'd imagine there would be people on that bridge, hence that look on JGL's face. So...Gotham's version of 9/11?

Why would Bane warn them in any case ? I'd have thought he'd just blow the bridges and leave whoever is in there, inside.

It would be great of the US army somehow intervened and gathered on the other side of the destroyed bridges.................communicating with Batman and asking him how's the situation, and if he can handle it.

I can't have those because The Avengers has already opened here in Mexico ;)

Feliciano-I agree, that would be awesome. I get the feeling we will get the Army involved in the film somehow. Or something similar given the battle royale screenshots and scenes between the cops and Bane's army.

It'd be a show of power. He tells Gotham what he's going to do becaus ehe knows no one can stop him, further demonstrating his control over the minds of Gothamites.

and we'd know that Wayne... does?

Right. Of course he does. Because he's not being written by Moore! Got'cha.

Don´t really know about Wayne..But Tony Stark is sympathetic towards those who have perfomance issues. He states so in the Avengers.

I've found heavy handed statements are superior to clandestine attempts.

Here's a thought: What's been happening at The Narrows since the first film? Maybe one of those bridges led to there?

Shows how much my appreciation is for the first film that I have no idea what The Narrows is.

The inner area of gotham that crane first unleashed the toxin in.
In Begins, it was essentially the slums of Gotham.

Isn't it also, according to the film, where Arkham is?

I may be wrong about this,
but in the scene where Rachel drops off Bruce's birthday gift, the arrowhead, she gets a call from someone in the DA's office
regarding Falcone being moved to Arkham (I think)

Bruce says: "Arkham? Rachel, that's in the narrows..."

But it's been a while since I've seen it and I'm too lazy to actually look it up right now, so that's all I got.

Indeed, all of that information about the Narrows is absolutely true. What's more, we see that the Narrows is an island that can only be reached in one of two ways.

First is by way of at least one bridge, which is what called the subject to my memory in the first place The second is by way of the light rail train that Thomas Wayne had built.

Come to think of it, that makes two prominent Gotham fixtures (three, including Arkham) that were neither seen or heard from in the second film, despite getting royally fucked up for their vital roles in the first. I wonder if the third film will make any attempt at revisiting them and tying up those loose ends.
