This movie is kind of, weirdly, amazing. At least The Fast and the Furious films take place in something resembling reality; I'm convinced that Torque's setting is of an insane post-apocalyptic world where rednecks and bikers have taken over the world, and Adam Scott can be taken seriously as an FBI agent.

I'm glad that something this crazy can exist.

*Honestly, this film should be a 7, but any movie ending with a "bike-fu" scene gets props.

If you want crazy, check out Godzilla: Final Wars and Eraserhead.

I fixed that just now.

I second that motion

That's a movie I need to watch too.

What an unusual film. When I read that it was adapted by Charlie Kaufman, it actually explained a lot, but even beyond that, it's just a strange basis.

It revolves around Chuck Barris (portrayed here by Sam Rockwell) who's notable for being the creator of several famous game shows in the 60's and 70's. The weird part is that he later wrote an autobiography in which he also claimed to be an assassin working for the CIA at the time. Even if it's not true, and I still don't quite know what to think regarding its authenticity, it's still extremely interesting and odd that someone in such a position would lie about their life to that degree and the adaptation of that is fascinating to say the least.

HAHAHA

I can't even think which of many gifs are appropriate to express the many emotions that come from seeing someone rate this a 5 or higher. This movie was terrible and an absolute fast and furious rip off. Even Biker Boyz was better. The action set pieces were trash, the acting was trash, the writing was trash, and worst of all the direction was a steaming pile of trash on a hot summer's day.

I hate to say it, but you totally didn't get it.

Be real dude.

You watched that while on meth.....................it's the only possible explanation.

I remember I was excited when I saw that film, I left SO dissapointed, it's quite dumb.

SkaO definitely took a hit of the bad shit before watching that. there is nothing satirical or self referential about it. There is no recognition that it is a dumb, over the top action movie. I legit believe that the writer/director thought bike-fu was straight up cool, not tongue in cheek awesome.

And I hate to reference other peoples' opinions, but the 22% it has on rotten tomatoes out of 118 reviews shows that everyone who wasn't high as lindsay lohan likely felt the same way.

i've never seen the movie, but when ever I see an RT score of that kind of amount, I just read it is "one in four critics liked the movie" say what you will but that's not bad odds considering critics (are you seriously saying one in four professional critics are constantly high?) aren't as forgiving as normal folk, so you're talking a 1 in 3 maybe even 1 in 2 chance of enjoying the movie,

well that's how it works, it's a percentage of positive reviews vs negative reviews by professional critics.

But it doesn't really work in "odds" per se, I mean, imagine if actually one out of four people thought a movie was good, then there's a chance that movie is pretty underrated.

I think the rottentomatoes scoring system works by saying: "Out of THESE critics, OUR critics, there's a percentage that liked it, and a percentage that didn't."

It's every bit as visually impressive as you'd expect from a Tim Burton movie, but the jokes were way too campy for their own good and the plot was a total mess.

Griff the Invisible - 7/10

It stradles the line between fantasy and reality in a fundamentally awkward way.
We're never sure if we have a handle on things.
And the movie ends... with a... cop out.

Spoilers:
Griff is a 'superhero' like Kick-Ass.
But be believes he's like Batman.

When the movie starts, it doesn't let you know that 99% of it is in his head.
Handled properly it would've been epic.
But inject a strange love triangle and a plot that is content to meander around alot and Griff the Invisible only flirts with moments of greatness.

Save your time. Save your money (or your bandwidth) and go watch Kick-Ass, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, and Fight Club.
In that order. You'll get the same effect. And with far better results.

I guess it reminded me of the friends I don't have anymore and the ones I'm fortunate enough to have now.

I hadn't before and I don't think a lot of people on this forum have.
