it's illegal to kill swans in the UK, they're also a lot bigger and more stubborn than ducks, having your path blocked by a swan that probably won't move if you sound your horn is worse than being blocked by a flock of ducks that micht, and even if they don't you could probably drive at and they'll fly away, and no biggie if one or two die.

Well that's a funny law if I ever saw one ! Is there a reason for that ?

Also, I remember a friend of my father in Colombia that used swans as "guard dogs" for his country house, not fucking around ! Apparently, it hurts like hell to get "beaked" by nine swans at the same time.

It's because the Queen owns all swans when they are within the British isles, or something.

That just raises further questions.

i really don't know the answers to them whatever they are.

we have a monarchy because they never did anything worthy of being overthrown for, they're generally pretty inoffensive, and have given most of their power to parliament anyway.

we don't eat crumpets all the time, tea on the other hand.....

I'm pretty sure the framers of the Magna Carta would be asking the same thing if they were alive today...

I've been struggling with whether or not to contact Sierra and try to become semi-friends with her again. I really miss her and I would like to talk to her again eventually. I don't want it to become a regression sort of situation, though, where I pine for her constantly again. But I would just like the opportunity to talk to her occasionally, I guess. Thing is, this is all probably moot. I don't doubt she'd end up saying no or just ignoring me completely. I've thought about this a lot, though, and not ever talking to her again seems terrible.

I'll tell it to you like it is Mr. Hanley.

This is a mistake, a bad bad bad mistake.

But maybe this is a mistake you need to make on your own, whatever the case, know we all have your back and that we are always here for you, even if some among us may be vocal about our disagreements with your course of action.

Then what ? You want us to convince you otherwise  ?

If it is what you feel you HAVE to do, then by all means.

Just be aware that women are not as emotionally vulnerable as men, so she might just shrug you off, even if she doesn't, you need to be clear with yourself about where do you stand with her, do you want to be friends again ? Or are you really hoping for a chance at getting together again ?

Well, I figured out that I'd rather have her as a friend and keep in touch rather than not have her in my life at all. This is something I should have realized a long time ago, however. I might not contact her, though. If she actually wanted to talk to me, she would have contacted me by now. I'm just being kind of selfish, I guess.

Think it over if you must, and personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with this, love is partly selfish as well.

That's kind of the problem, though. I don't know how much of me just wants to talk and how much is still in love with her.

I guess if I can't be honest with myself and genuinely attempt a fully platonic relationship, then I really shouldn't act.

No disrespect meant here, but have you considered the possibility that you may LIKE to feel sad about missing Sierra ? I know I've found myself in situations where feeling sad also makes me feel "good".

Logically speaking, the feeling of sincerity and honesty towards my emotions is what makes me feel better.

I think I kind of know what you mean, but I don't think that's the case. I don't like feeling sad and if I had it my way, I would be fine just parting ways with Sierra forever.

Well, good to know that's out of the way at least !

What I really think you need to do, and I'm going to take this chance while the forum is still a big sausage party:

You need to make out with some hot chick and put your hands all over her, bed her if possible.

Really, Dylan wasn't making that crazy of a suggestion.

You know, I may be wrong, but you seem like an open-minded fellow on most issues, so color me confused about how you think there's anything wrong with kissing and having sex with someone not named Sierra Billingsley.

Because to other regular folk, that is the exact way to get over someone, TO BE with someone else. Maybe not physically, but emotionally at least.

Emotionally, maybe, but I'm not out for sex. And you know I'm not the type of person to do that sort of thing without knowing someone for a long time.
