Anybody like the first one?

Any doubts or fears about actors or plot?

Lets set this thread on fire!!!

Yeah we chatted about this in the Guillermo Del Toro thread...
Anyway, very much looking forward to this - the reviews are generally calling it brilliant and his best english-language movie so far...
I predict TF and Empire will give it 4 stars out of 5 because that's the most a purely popcorn movie can get, but the online and less professional reviews are giving it about 9/10!
Regardless of reviews, I'd see this - it's gonna be fun!
All together now:
"Awwww crap..."
:D

Unfortunately, though, I have to wait to August for the UK release :(

It's nice hearing nothing but good things all across the board already from people.
I hear it really is extremely funny, which is a plus in these types of films.

As a Guillermo del Toro fan, I am absolutely going to see this when I get the chance. It's just the matter of getting 100 miles to the nearest theater...

Still, I'm absolutely sure that the movie will be amazing.

I loved the first one. The character of Hellboy was very well translated onto the silver screen. I'll see it this weekend. My concern however, is that Del Toro focused too much screen time on "pretty imagery," and not a lot of detail to story. The trailer's just seem too "ooze" out too much fantasy. Too many special effects, even for a Del Toro movie. I'm not sure I like that. I would have rather seen Hellboy investigating hauntings and that type of stuff.

I agree with you there alfonso...

I never followed the comics of Hellboy and have no idea if these creatures are even there.
It very much looks like when "K' and "J" walk into the space headquarters for Men In Black after being in the real world...are you are kinda like "what the crap?"
But I will be hopeful, either way I know I will enjoy it.

Saw it. I liked it better than the first, but it's not much different. The team chemistry is a lot better - eliminating Meyers did the film a lot of good. The Abe/Hellboy scenes are fantastic, although Liz could use some improvement. Johann Krauss was awesome, as were the fights and the costume designs - however, the dialogue runs into some of the same problems it did in Hellboy.

Just saw the movie yesterday. It was indeed a wonderful piece of work.

However, I can't shake the feeling that GDT made this movie for himself more than he made it for any audience in particular. Maybe it's just how much I know about what went on behind the scenes, but I couldn't quite immerse myself into this movie the way I was hoping for.

Still, it's a good, well-crafted film.

Just saw it not to long ago...

Another FUN summer movie(i'm enjoying these "fun" films but am awaiting the flick that when I wake up in the middle of the night I ponder it)

Here are some of my HAPPY thoughts:

Very funny

the makeup and waredrobe was :D

Every scene was a great piece of art...nothing was half done.

Overall a GOOD MOVIE

Here are some of my SAD thoughts:

Maybe there is a Hellboy comic fan here to answer my question....WHAT HAPPENED TO LIZ'S BLUE FLAMES???

Also the "YOU SHOULD BE RUNNING" line was enough for me for one movie.

I miss the voice of Niles Crane.

And thats all...

I saw it last weekend. I really liked it. The scene in the locker room was fricking funny.

Saw the movie a couple weeks ago, wasn't very impressed.

There was too much Del Toro, so the movie focused more on visuals than action, which I think is a big no no for Hellboy. They should be equally balanced. Because of this, there was not enough action.

They stretched on that Hellboy/ Abe drunk scene, and it was very useless.

It wasn't a BAD movie, it was ok. The story didn't play out very well. I just thought it could've used more work.
