:/ Oh, Logan Marshall-Green. You need to watch/read more science fiction.

To be fair, mainstream Science-Fiction has treated the issue very poorly.

Sure, there's Blade Runner, and in videogames Mass Effect, but other than that ? I, Robot the movie ?

Actually, it's funny that Avatar mentions Blade Runner. Wasn't that another great movie with an unfairly godawful theatrical release?

Don't get me wrong, I still think that Prometheus as it exists right now is a total narrative mess. But rumors have been swirling about a director's cut coming out. I think that might be worth a chance, going by Ridley Scott's history with such things.

The current cut is Ridley Scott's preferred cut of the film.

Ridley always says that, and there are directors cuts for must of his movies. The only movie he really didn't like the theatrical cut of was Blade runner, and he did 2 directors cuts of that.

Haha, I think it's more like 40 something minutes? It's a brilliant film.

it's split over 2 DVDs, that's pretty damn long. But yeah, it's a totally brilliant movie, possibly the best Crusades movie of all time.

I've seen the TC and remembered enjoying it, then I bought the DC on impulse the other week.
Would you say the DC is better?

Weird, I was just thinking of watching it this week. It was on the other night, and I caught the end of it, and I remembered the facebook discussion on it (the DC) being great).

So I've been thinking... what if LV-426 and LV-223 are in the same system? Not necessarily orbiting the same planet, but in the same solar system rather? It's never exactly specified how far away 426 is from Earth, only other than it would be about ten months of traveling, where as 223 is like two years or something? It takes a few days to get to the moon, and a few months to get to Mars, it makes sense to me. It could also give reason as to why there was a Jockey base on 223, one of them left to possibly go to Earth (or left thousands of years before that, maybe going somewhere else with the xenos) and obviously fucked up?

I think Ridley's already said they're in the same system. So your theory's probably correct.

I guess it's possible that the system is the LV system and there are hundreds of numbered planets, planetoids and moons, I had initially assumed that their designations were so different that they couldn't possibly be close to each other.

I quite liked the film. It was scary at parts, always entertaining and with a surprising sense of wonder and surprisingly moving as well. I will agree that I thought the climax was a mess. Too much stuff going on and not enough time to make it genuienly suspenseful and scary when it certainly could have been.

I love this viral campaign.

Also, if you stayed all the way through the credits, you would have seen the property of Weyland Industries (building better worlds since 10.11.12) logo, so we've got something in store for us.
