[NOTE: This was taken from the "Comic-Con" thread, but it's so amazing that I had to give the news its own thread. --"Curiosity Inc."]

So you'll never guess who called me today?

None other than Dave Gibbons himself. It wasn't a total shock that he called as I've been attempting to schedule an interview with him at Comic Con through some mutual contacts, but I was very appreciative that he took the time to reach out and say, "hi."

He also told me that he has visited the site before and that he liked it a lot. He has graciously promised me an interview, but we both agreed Comic Con wouldn't be the best time. So sometime shortly after the Con we will touch base again and set something up.

It was very nice of him to reach out to me personally, and I can't wait to meet him in person at the Con.

And, Dave, if by some chance you read this - thanks again!

I can't even get a press pass. Hence why I'm emailing and calling in every favor I have to schedule interviews outside official Comic Con press channels.

And to think, we were talking about the chance of an interview only a day ago.

Great to hear!

Guys, please note that I'm closing the "Ask Dave" form on Monday. Now is the time to submit questions. Don't miss the boat. So far there are lots of questions about the film, not so many about the comic series.

You have a golden opportunity to ask Gibbons anything about the comic series. Don't miss this chance.

Hey! The questions I have come up with and sent in aren't to do with the movie. :) I'll have to think of a few more, it seems.

Yes there have been some. In general, what I'm saying is the chance to interview Gibbons is fantastic, so let's ask the big deep questions about the comic series and stop asking him if the squid is in the movie. Ya know.

Heh, people have actually asked if the squid is in the movie?

Anyway, my question was the one concerning The Comedian's death in the comic. Sent it a few days ago.

DDC, how will the timeline of this "Ask..." session be mapped out?

What I'm really trying to ask is, do you think it will take the same amount of time for you and Curiosity to sift through the questions/choose/send? Also, I'd assume that Dave will respond quicker than Zack did, since he was still working hard on the film, but I could be wrong about Dave.

Any specifics would satiate my bloodlust.

I plan to pick out the questions in much the same way that I did for Snyder, so it should take roughly the same amount of time. In fact, it should take less time, now that I've figured out what I'm doing. One well-placed evening should do it, once all the questions are submitted and sent to me.

I was instructed to select 15 questions for the Zack Snyder Q&A, with five to be omitted at WB's discretion. For Gibbons, I've been asked to prepare 20.

Needless to say, I will work as hard as I can to sift through all of the entries to find solid questions that are representative of the fan base as a whole and worthy of Gibbons' time. However, I've been given clearance to round out the list with questions of my own, if necessary.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that this Fan Q&A may not be 100% made up of user-submitted questions like the Snyder Q&A was. That being said, I promise that I know how much this means to all of you. The questions submitted will be given top priority. If I need to use multiple questions from the same author, I will. If too many entries are unusable, I swear on my copy of the Absolute edition to represent all of you as best I can.

How's the selection process coming along Curi?

Did you manage to pull out some good questions or was it mostly just a heap of "is the squid in?!" questions?

There were some good ones. We're also going to ask some of our own as well.

The questions were sent to Dave today. He told me he'd take a look at them tomorrow. One third of the questions were from WCM.com and the other two-thirds from the fan submissions.

Expect it to take around two weeks to get posted.
