I just posted on PhotoBucket a few scans of two Heroclix Catman figures I converted to a couple of the Watchmen “Minutemen” characters that no Heroclix or metal minis have been made for – the overlooked Nite Owl I and Dollar Bill. Turned out pretty nice, I think, given the constraints.

I’m nearing the end of a project to collect and paint in 25mm scale ALL the major Watchmen costumed vigilantes and some of their opponents, using specific character miniatures (the Grenadier set issued in 1988) or repainting the recent Heroclix plastic figures (which covered some of the previously unsculpted characters but by no means all) or outright conversions to other metal miniatures or other comics characters made by Heroclix.

I desperately need to locate suitable figures to turn into the Silhouette, Mothman, and the Twilight Lady. Any tips?

The others I’ve completed:

Two Molochs:

Captain Metropolis:

My take on Jimmy the Gimmick:

Ditto for Captain Axis:

Spooky ol' Hooded Justice:

The dangerous Dr. Manhattan:

Rorschach from the Grenadier set:

Mobster:

Rorschach again:

Rorschach 3, above, is a fairly simple easy conversion from a Copplestone detective figure. I’ve painted the teeny tiny Owlship from the Grenadier package, but don’t seem to have scanned it yet. Why doesn’t some toy company make a large scale model?? I would buy this in a Doctor Manhattan minute!
