Englishman

49 years of age. (I'm 50! Old thread! )

Live in Stockholm with my wife and four children. Been into "comics" nearly all my life, though I am not always reading them. Love movies. And am often found resembling a couch potato at home in front of a television. I find the mix of comic and film on this project tantalising. Been a Watchmen fan since ½-way through publication of the mags. (See photo of my original mags in my sig, below).

Only really recently aware of the enormous passion and depth of thought that this seminal work has evoked in so many people. Very cool to read the posts.

I'm living in North Carolina, but I also have Belgian citizenship.

I'm 17, just finishing up my high school education under the International Baccalaureate Programme. Next year, I'll be moving to Florida to student political science, public policy, and philosophy at New College of Florida.

I work part-time as a tech crew assistant at a local professional theatre, and I'm heavily involved with theatre in my area as a lighting designer/programmer.

I got into comics just a couple years ago.

I'm a Bachelor of Accounting graduate and now currently working in one of the big four audit firms.

I first got to know Watchmen through Wikipedia. I'm not the biggest comic book reader as Watchmen is the only comic book i've ever followed. Suffice to say that'll be the only comic book I'll ever read as i forsee no other comic book will give me the same impact as Watchmen.

Edit: oh yeah, i play the guitar. Was influenced by Nirvana when i was 12, never put down the guitar since. Played a bit of drums and bass too. Nice to know we have fellow musicians here. Hope to hear you play soon.

I was born July 18, 1987 and I am a proud son of Oregon.

In my short life, I've been a wannabe screenwriter, a stage hand, a percussionist, a Safeway courtesy clerk and a UPS driver helper, among many other things. I've also been just about everyplace in North America, including Las Vegas, NYC, Alaska, Canada, Cancun, Honduras, Mexico, Hawaii, the Republic of Kiribati and even Cuba.

I'm currently a college student majoring in Bioinformatics. In other words, I'm taking courses in Biology and Computer Science without really mastering either one. I'm still trying to figure out where I'm going, and the less said about my love life, the better.

I'm about three months away from the half century mark. I've been married twice, with a grown up son from my first marriage and two preteens from my second.

I recently semi-retired and ran away from the rat race so my preteens could grow up in a smaller community. Before that I lived in the big city working in Medical and Research Labs. My last full time gig involved doing epidimiology on the population of a Canadian province using DNA technology and Bioinformatics.

When was wasn't doing that, I was playing music (I sing as well as play regular and steel guitar), a pursuit that I'm still involved in. Since moving away from the Big Busy, I've been busy designing and building guitar pickups.

Oh, and hanging out here part of the time.

I'm originally from Chihuahua Mexico. I now live in Phoenix Arizona. I am 21 years old, and have a three month old daughter. Before knocking up my girlfriend causing me to work even more, I was a student at a community college studying liberal arts. Now, when i'm not working, i'm either at home caring for my daughter, playing video games, working out, reading comics, or watching Dragonball Z.

By day, I'm a 23-year-old art director/illustrator (and occasional music/movie reviewer) for my city's alt-weekly newspaper. By night I play drums in a jazz quartet and dabble in various indie-rock projects.

I've been reading comics since I could read, and Watchmen holds a special place on my shelf, as I'm sure it does for everyone here.

This is the first forum I've ever joined — as I was intrigued that most of the members seemed literate and genuinely interested in graphic novels and films and not just posting bogus "insider info."

Not gonna lie the first time i heard about the book my friend mentioned it as "the guy who directed 300 is doing this new gn called watchmen." That was my first graphic novel and i absolutely loved it. since ive read V for Vendetta and I'm currently reading The Dark Knight Returns. Kinda mad i decided to read watchmen first cause there seems to be no where to go but down. (any recommendations??)
When i heard watchmen was going to be a movie i was so happy as i am absolutely obsessed with the film industry.

Hello, I'm new here ... i've been coming back and reading posts here for some time but never got up the courage to join so here I am... I haven't seen evidence of many girls around here so I will say now that I am a girl (as the name probably suggests actually :S).. and I'm 21 from Manchester, UK and currently studying Dance at University, in my last year now though! which is scary. I'm a long time fan of comic books (Batman especially!) but I consider myself relatively new to watchmen, I had a good friend who I went to school with who lent me her copy of Watchmen and I read it.. but then didn't read it again for a few years. Then i saw The Dark Knight in IMAX and couldn't believe they were making Watchmen into a movie.. so I picked up the Graphic Novel and fell in love with it all over again.

And as you can probably tell from my Avatar... I am a Nite Owl II fan lol I shall try not to get fangirlish on you all.. so i apologise now

My name is Oscar. I am eighteen years old. I'll be nineteen in December 16. I'm a freshman at University of Texas at El Paso, where I commute everyday from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. I'm majoring in Creative Writing, but if I don't like it, I plan on switching to English and I want to minor in Screenwriting. I also work there in the Office of Special Events, taking care of various details regarding the films we show nearly every week. Depending on how I feel after I graduate, I'm thinking of going to Film School.

When I'm not studying or doing homework or writing, I write screenplays and short stories and/or making films.
I'm a huge movie buff and I am slowly becoming a Literature buff as well, although I've loved to read since I was about nine years old.
