Alleged set photos fresh from Vancouver according to some random over at the SuperHeroHype Watchmen boards; seeing as WMC.com is supposed to be THE leading place for Watchmen movie news, thought I'd better share (I'm being told by the board that they're too big to show here so enter the links via your browser):

See link below (Admin)

Dan's brownstone? Moloch's pad? Grice's hovel? The fiery tenement were Dan and Laurie mount the Owlship rescue? Guess time'll tell.

Thanks for the scoop Rorschach. See the live story here http://www.watchmencomicmovie.com/083107-watchmen-movie-set-photos.php

I'm trying to compare these pictures to panels from the book, but it's very difficult. All the warehouses, tenement buildings and apartment buildings in the comic are colored in various shades of brown. The building in the pictures has a very distinctive brick layout, but it's nigh-impossible to find in the graphic novel.

Personally, I would guess that this is Dreiberg's apartment. If it were dirtied up a bit with some boarded-up windows, it could be Archie's warehouse exit or Rorschach's apartment. Or, with the smokestacks on top, it could be where Rorschach perches to make his journal entries.

Or maybe it's an all-purpose facade that could be modified to be any or all of these buildings.

In case anyone is curious, I'm Super_Surfer from the SuperHeroHype message boards (the guy that made the thread on the set pictures). I am not, however, the one that took the pictures themselves. I got them from the Facebook group "Who Will Watch the Watchmen?". A guy--who's name I'm reluctant to post seeing as he probably doesn't even know that his pictures are circulating the internet right now--from Vancouver got the pictures. He was able to get near the set because his 4 year-old son happens to be involved in the production (He'll be playing JFK, Jr. from the mid-sixties). Just thought I'd give you all a heads up.

Wow. Welcome to the forum, man. Any chance you could bring your friend by the site? We could always use one more Watchmen fan around here.

So, what's your opinion on the pictures? Care to join in the speculation regarding which building that is?

Yeah, I've sent the guy a message through Facebook, and hopefully he won't want to kill me for secretly stealing his scoops. Heck, maybe he'll even join in on the discussion and deliver us more scoops in the future.

I'm not quite sure about what the set might be for (I don't have the book with me right now). Although, It looks like maybe it could be the tenement that catches fire and is subsequently visited by Nite Owl and Silk Spectre and Archie. However, that's just pure speculation from me; it's really hard to tell for sure though.

Howdy Watchmaker.

Didn't one of the other regulars over at the SHH! Watchmen board post a while back to say that his buddy's mom has actually been cast in the part of Sylvia Kovacs? Any chance of tapping him back up and see where it takes us?

I'd do that if I had any sort of way of contacting that guy (or his mom). I'm just a schmo that happened to stumble upon those pictures and the tidbit about the Canadian guy's kid being cast in the movie. Don't mistake me for a super internet sleuth. I know only as much as everyone else right now. By the way, are you a SHH forum member? If so, what was your screen name?

Just a lowly Larry Lurker is all.

I was just thinking that a PM member-to-member to the guy through the SHH! board might be possible, maybe even give him a link here and invite him across if he's obviously interested in the Watchmen movie. Get him (literally) on board and then we can start snapping his fingers one by one until he comes up with the goods!
