It doesn't look amazing, but you can't say it won't be fun.

Odds are, it probably won't be very fun. It'll most likely be broken, and suffer from one too many bugs and glitches.

It is, after all, based off a movie, which is based off a comic. Not necessarily a recipe for success in the video game world.

Still, I'd play it just to see what the storyline is. It'd be kinda funny if Rorschach's HP hits zero in-game.

Nite Owl: NO! Rorschach, live damn you! You're supposed to die in the movie!

So to go off topic here: But can someone tell me where this strange ,internet only, trend of changing the grammatically correct and often sighted "Based On..." (as in. Based ON a True Story, Based ON the novel by.., Based ON the facts at hand... etc), to the nonsensical "Based OFF..". started?

ONe or two people getting it wrong I can understand, but everybody's at it.

Sorry...carry on.

It is a game based off the movie...which Len Wien wrote the story for and worked with Dave Gibbons. You haven't even played it yet. What, is it just because its a downloadable game? And stop with the 'bad graphics'. It looks just great. Go back to GTA4 and be bored.

And games based on movies based of comics can be good. Dont believe me? Ok, lets see...

Batman Returns (SNES)
The Shadow (SNES) (never got released due the movie bombing, look up the ROM)
Spider Man 2 (PS2)
The Punisher (PS2)
Fantastic Four (PS2)
The Incredible Hulk (360)

And Watchmen is a beat em up game, apparently. Almost all superhero beat em up games kick ass (except Batman Forever and Crow: City Of Angels)

Gotta call you out on that one. That was a terrible, awful game and a waste of 99p.

I had some fun with it. I didn't see what was so bad. It was a beat em up.

The fact that's it's downloadable does not matter to me at all.

Where did I say anything about graphics?

Just go back to GTA IV and be bored? You're implying that GTA has stellar graphics and is boring?

All the games aren't very good that you listed IMO, other than Spider-Man 2.

And I would beg to differ that most superhero beat em up games kick ass. But I can clearly see that you and I have very contrasting tastes in video games.

The Watchmen game IS a downloadable game. It won't be sold in stores.

Oh, is it? My mistake.

But either way, the fact that it's a downloadable game isn't why I think it's bad. That doesn't factor into my opinion at all.

I myself play alot of video games. not as much as id like because of school and all but you know....

ive decided im gonna buy it. i just want to find out how it is. if its crap than so be it.....but im not big into brawler games or fighting games. super smash bros is the one of few brawlers i own. i had streets of rage too which was fuckin sweet. but havent played any recently. fight club is not a bad fighting game. the dcu vs mortal kombat doesnt look too bad either. just wish it was Mature, thats the only reason i havent gotten it. weak TEEN rating.

im personally more into first person shooters myself. GTA IV is great. never boring. what id really like to see is a
Watchmen FPS game based on the Comedian's escapades in Vietname and South America. Now that would be a FUCKIN GREAT game depending on how they pull it off.

Interview with Jerry Pritchard, Associate Producer at WB Games:

A pretty comprehensive interview, relatively, plus some new screen-shots.

the interview sounded a little bit generic in my opinion, I am afraid of this game. I don't know if a generic brawler suits the mood, but at least I hope to get a real gameplay. I don't care a lot about state of the art graphics.

Bottom line, if the game is fun to play... it's a win.

Two words: Budget game. I'll bet they couldn't spare the money, time or manpower to look into that.

Yep, it's the classic Project Managment Pyramid (Budget, Time, and Resources) that dictates everything. My guess is they simply did not have enough of one (or all) of those critical elements to add other features like online co-op.
